Well I just started a new form of betting in PRACTICE .
I know that this may not be good . So here it is ,
Pass line bet with full odds .
If point is 6 or 8 place the other for 30.00 .
Place bet the 5 for 10.00 .
Bet the field for 5.00 .
With each place bet win you increase the dealer odds till they are at max. That tells you when to increase your place bets .
Since I am not to the point were I am good I will not try this in casino yet .
It is nice to win on every roll even if it is little . Like one dealer says to me that he would love to win 2.00 on every roll .But then he locks up ALL His wins .
Has any body tried this ?
I know no system works . This is just another way to practice with an added fun part some times .
I try lots of different ways so this is just another .
I usually limit my betting to 3 bets on myself till I get way into a roll .
Good Rolling. 🙂 🙂

The lure of playing the Iron Cross bet in the game of craps revolves around the fact that you get paid when any number is thrown any number but the 7 that is. The Iron Cross bet consists of a one unit place (or pass line) bet on the 5, 6 and 8 plus a one unit field bet. An example is a $30 6 and 8, a $25 5 and a $25 Field. The field bet pays when a 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, or 12 is thrown. Most field bets pay double when a 2 or 12 is thrown, but sometimes the 2 or 12 pays triple.
Overall the total edge for the Iron Cross is 3.87% if the 2 and 12 pay double. It is reduced to 2.49% if the 2 or 12 pays triple. Even at its best, the Iron Cross extracts almost a full percent more than the 6 and 8 place bets, so logic dictates that the money should be placed on the 6 and 8.

I usually decide how or what I am going to do at the table before I get there . Like one time I decided that I would make one bet on the 6 .Well after 4 rollers including myself and 42 rolls I hit that 6 for a pay day of 7.00 .
I did change my betting a little on my roll with a pass line bet and one come bet tho .Which I did hit 2 come bets to make up for some of the place bets I lost on my roll and the other 2 rollers .
I did get some feed back from dealers while I was counting the rolls .Even after my roll .They said are you sure you want to STILL bet only the 6 .The 4th roller rolled it on his 3 or 4th roll .I did not keep track of all rolls just know that it was on the 42nd roll .
I know about the iron cross that is one reason I said no system works .
The way I bet in a casino I would be on a long roll to get a green chip .If I do get one I hold it up and say to the box person its about time and smile .They all laugh and smile .The most I have ever colored up for is 800 which I think I had 4 greens . The black chip is the high chip there .So if you have a lot of them you must take them to cashier .
It was funny when one guy put all his black chips out on the come to color up and they told him he had to take them to the cage .He had this funny look on his face till they told him that is the highest chip they have .
He left and the dealers said he must be use to playing in Vegas .
Good Rolling. 🙂 🙂

I love practicing betting so that at the casino you are using muscle memory and not have to think about what you are going to bet and when you are going to press. Mu simple response is why practice a method of betting that you shouldn’t use at a casino. Winning on almost every throw of the dice doesn’t make up for the house edge that Skinny wrote about

When you look at the pass line bet odds they along with the come bet would appear to
be the best bets……..however than the odds against hitting a pass line winner is
way under 50% and the odds of hitting two in a row is something like 16.7%.
So here is my question, if you are playing with other GTC players do you
ever play the pass line or say you 5 count and get into a roll, do you then
play the pass line on that shooter or always stay with a come bet only.
Next question is, no matter who your playing with, your suggesting you
never place a 4,10,5,9 just wondering if that is correct.

I quoted Gman because I want to answer his question, but I also want to say that BMan is right on, especialy about it being a slow burn.
Answer to question #1: I always use the 5-count and those reasons are in the other posts. There will be times when after the 5-count your bet would be a passline bet, which is actually a comebet BTW. If you don’t understand why your bet might be a passline bet after the 5-count, please ask.
Answer to question#2: The buy bet on the 4/10 is actually a good bet, better than placing the 6/8, in places like Vegas or where ever you can pay the vig after it hits, but you got to be a $25 player on the 4/10 to make it worth while as far as edge is concerned. Placing the 5/9 is a BIG NO NO. Why …. because the edge on those bets is 4 percent, MUCH bigger than the edge on the 6/8. Please do not place the 5/9! Pretty please 😀

Just a couple of comments for you.
Win a couple of dollars, win another couple of dollars, then the 7 comes and you lose $75 dollars. Not good!
Also, field bets have a decision on EVERY toss of the dice. Need deep pockets to withstand that variance alone and then add the house edge that grinds it away.
I think you will see in practice why you wouldn’t ever want to use this in actual casino play.

Wanna try it at home shot your hand the way you do then shoot 5 other hands by just picking the dice up and throwing them down the table then shoot your hand again and repeat this for three hours lots of fun, also it will give you a taste of the wagering.
