Crapless or No More Craps

Spread the love

Lately, I’ve been shooting at some crapless tables. And I might say, "I’m doing really good. Compare to the normal tables". I kind of like the ideal that the crap numbers are now point numbers. The point number 2 and 12 pay 6 to 1 and the point number 3 and 11 pay 3 to 1. In my own opinion those are some pretty good pay offs. I like the ideal that on the come out roll you can’t loose. I like the ideal that when a point number is established you can win on EVERY number except of course the 7. So when I go to a casino and I see a crapless table I’ll play that table first. So, what would be a good dice set for crap numbers? And what are other peoples opinion and these crapless tables?

Hi FourTen,

I think most people won’t play the Crapless tables because the math is just not good on those tables. The fact that the 11 is no longer a winner on the Come Out hurts more than the fact that you don’t lose on a 2,3 or 12. I believe overall the house edge on the pass bet in crapless craps is 5.38% as opposed to the 1.41 on a normal table. Maybe if you have the bankroll and the casino lets you add enough odds you can get it back down to around the 1.41 area. I am sure Skinny or another math guy can give you better math info than I have.

All this being said I have to say that I have played on Crapless tables a few times. Sometimes the only table with no one on it is the Crapless so I will play to get the dice back quickly. Not a mathematically sound idea but the Siren call of the quick return of dice does lure me. 😳 I think the standard dice sets of straight six and crossed six are the ones to use to try to toss horn numbers. Like any Craps play the winning is in the ability to repeat a number twice to secure the Pass Line win. However it is tough to repeat an outside number and that is why the casino offers us this game.

We usually don’t even bother with playing crapless craps. As indicated the vig is too high–unless you place the 6 and 8, and buying the out side numbers only where the vig is paid on wins. We have regular craps figured out so use the ‘Kiss" theory which is "Keep It Simple STupid." No insult to any one who plays Crapless craps with an advantage. Why change something where you are successful.

Ahhh Yes the "KISS". Yeah I hear you Doc. When playing at the Crapless table. I do only play the 4,5,6,8,9,10. But what I like is that you don’t loose on any money on the crap number on the come-out. Now, if I do make a crap number as a point then I don’t play the crap number and I don’t even put odds on my pass line bet. Well maybe for the 11. For some reason or another I tend to throw 11s with my hard ways set. But I’ll just put $5 for odds on the 11 on the pass line odds. The 2, 3 and 12 I don’t even bother. And like I said the Key for me here is no loosing money on craps and I keep it to the 4,5,6,8,9,10 bets.
