Is it wrong ….

Spread the love

The other day I was playing, table minimum was higher than I wanted to play, but I wanted to play … Got my spot on the table, and there were some decent CF rolls, I couldn’t get anything going on my own, but they were keeping me alive. Had a dice setter hit the Small/All/Tall bet, so put me up some … fast forward an hour, back to even, table too crowded, so I went for a walk around.

Was getting ready to leave, and seen the table empty (or so I thought). So, I figured I didn’t want to go out with not having any good rolls, so I went back. Still a higher minimum, but was alone, and I am fine with that. As I was buying in, the dealers told me that the other gentleman there was a don’t player that doesn’t shoot. I said that’s fine, his money, he can bet how ever he would like … luckily for me, he was on the same side of the table so I didn’t have to see him, or his bets.

First roll, point of 8. Gentleman Lay’s the 4 …. I roll the 4 … I roll the 9, his DC goes there, lays odd’s …. I hit the 9 …. pulls his bets, I roll big ugly. Next roll, point of 8 again … roll the 9, his DC goes there, lays odds, I hit the 9. At this point he makes some kind of comment about me and why do I keep trying to roll the numbers he’s laying, to which the dealer replies ‘his point is 8, that’s what he’s trying to roll, he don’t even have money on the 9 to win’ … I crack a smile, ignore the gentleman, and a couple throws later, big ugly. Mind you, I’m not winning any bets for the first few rolls as I only have a pass bet …

Finally, about the 5th time in, I have my good roll, about 3 points made, along with hitting the S/A/T bet, guessing the roll was in the mid 20’s. During this roll, the gentleman was laying numbers (4 & 10 mainly), along with DP & DC bets … When I originally walked up to the table, the gentleman had I’m guessing about 2-3 stacks of green chips, after I finished that roll, he maybe had about 10 green chips left, again, just a guess.

After him trying to talk to me, about how I was playing wrong, and didn’t make good bets, and he was a professional gambler (or something like that, as I couldn’t understand most of what he was saying) and I didn’t know what I was doing. I just looked at the dealer & asked if he understood him, as my hearing is bad, and he just shrugged his shoulders too … next time I get the dice, gentleman goes for a walk around (too bad, as I had a P.S.O.)

So, is it wrong of me to be just a little tickled that he was making good bets against me and losing them? (or at least in his mind they were good bets) So, what say you GTC world?????

Sounds like you had it made . You could not hear him and could not see all of his losses .Just trust your throw . I have been on table that the place right side betters were making money and the dark side was making some too . Enough that the dark side guy thanked me . Which surprised me .I was the only one not making a lot .That happens some times .
He ( dark side better ) was a good sport . He would cheer after I rolled 3 or 4 numbers for me to roll my point . Which I did like 5 times and then a 7 on come out so he was happy along with the rest of table . I was the only come better and lost my come bets .
Don’t let the dark side get to you it is their money .
Good Rolling. 🙂 🙂

You were right when you said, "that’s fine, his money, he can bet how ever he would like".

After that you should not care what he is doing with his money or listen to anything he has to say about your betting. Your job is to play your game, make the best bets as taught to you by GTC and remain focused. Ignore all other players, what they are doing with their bets, what they are saying and especially any comments they have about your game. Paying attention to his comments about your betting or how you are playing can not be of any benefit to you at all.

Wrong? I don’t think so. I enjoy knocking Don’t Players off. It’s their money.

One time, when my shot was on, I had a Don’t player actually switch when I was shooting. He would play the DP and DC on everyone else.
