Great Vegas class

Spread the love

My bride, Lady Luck and I are staying in Vegas a few more days but I have to give a huge Thank You to Dom, Mr Finesse, Pit Boss, Dr Crapology, Alligator Rose,Vera, and ALL the mentors and instructors. The course was great, as usual, but for some reason everything just sank in a bit more than normal.

I have had more very good to great rolls than normal since Sunday. Came within one toss of making the 40 roll club and I had 3 GTCers present as witnesses.

Looking forward to getting together again with all the gang

Oh, and Vera did a great job leading "Rowdy Money". Thanks Vera for your great leadership.

See you next time

Jawbones

Did you count the final seven as a roll?

It is a roll, even though it results in a seven out. So if you did not count it you did have a 40 roll.

Sadly the devil was roll 39. Dr Crapology and Alligator Rose and my bride were all witnesses.

Still it was a great hand and it leaves you with the opportunity to roll a 40 next time.

Great Job and the 40 and 50 roll clubs are on the horizon. The improvement you made from Sat. to Sunday was remarkable, I believe the light bulb did turn on and your understanding has greatly improved this weekend.

Hope we see you soon.

Notes like this is what turns on the light for Dom and myself

Time for a brief update. This is our last night in Vegas and what started so well has really turned sour. Our first few sessions were all winners beginning Sunday night after the class and extending into Tuesday. We finished the evening Tuesday with 2 small losers but we had a nice rise in our 401g.

Unfortunately since then it has been pretty dismal. Short rolls with quick 7-outs. We have now had 11 straight losing sessions and are in negative territory. That is the worst losing streak since I started tracking results nearly 2 years ago. I don’t like to lose so now it is getting into my head. Lady Luck has had some decent rolls or it would be much worse.

I’m at the point where I think I should quit for this trip but I hate to just give up because we all know the next roll could be the big one. One of the downtown casinos is giving us a dinner so I think I’ll go enjoy a nice steak and a glass of wine and then give it one more shot.

This game we all love sure can be frustrating!

Jawbones, stay the course. I remember a streak that I had many years ago in my weekly sessions with Bill Burton. Bill and I played every Thursday and Sunday for years at Foxwoods. I went into a funk and went point 7 out 27 hands in a row, yes 27 times. It turned and turned big time for me.

Stay with it, I think I am throwing the dice better now than I have in the last 4 years.

It will turn for the good, keep practicing.

Jawbones, what a pleasure it was to witness and count your 39 roll. Lady Luck’s throw looked good as well as she had several shorter rolls that were profitable. Your roll was a thing of beauty. Rose and Doc usually get so excited during a big roll that that we will on occasion miss count a roll or two collecting (for us) a few big pay days, but with Lady Luck, Rose and Doc all having the same number (39) must have been correct.

I agree with Mr. Finesse, stay the course. I do know that we can sometimes "over play" and we can get a little sloppy. So always take some breaks, you don’t have to always be rolling. Remember to do a couple of other things—see a couple of the tourist attractions, join Lady Luck for a little shopping (Rose loves that one), go to the exercise room, get a massage, etc. You will often come back and kill the casino. I know in the beginning of the trip Rose and Doc were having some terribly short rolls but Doc’s roll in the mid 20’s following your monster, brought us back. Rose had some decent rolls in the beginning of our trip when Doc was getting killed. She kept us in the game.

Remember we are 300 hitters so the slumps will come. Trust your throw and keep moving.

By the way during your 39 roll when the "suit" came over and told you to hit the back wall–to our eyes you hit the back wall every time–you handled the situation with class. After his comments, I saw you take a deep breath, focus and keep rolling at least 15 more times. Talk about trusting your throw and and using excellent discipline—you were a first class act. Rose and Doc look forward to rolling with both of you any time.

Thanks Doc and Mr Finesse for the words of encouragement. We are headed back home this morning. Our losing streak stretched to 12 sessions in a row before having a small winning session and decided to end on a positive note. Each of the sessions included multiple rolls and in those rolls we would certainly have a couple of winning hands but just could not get the sessions into positive territory.

For the record we did the 5 (or more) count on everyone but ourselves and bet only a single unit with single or double odds on the chicken feeders until we banked 3 wins. On ourselves we bet TBS with 5X odds.

Back home to wait for our 1/2 table and back to practice. I’ll be back in Vegas November 7 for 4 days to try again.

Really look forward to seeing the GTC gang again next year sometime.

If you are playing where I have seen you playing that is most of the problem that table has changed and requires a very difficult shoot to perform

I agree Bman. We did play a lot there. Struggled at several other casinos but did ok at the other end of Fremont st

One of the most important things you need to learn is the condition that suites you best.
