Hello everyone
This post comes from an emotional side of me — (yes, the Lion has that)
Well ….as many of your know, a bunch of us went to Vegas from June 7 thru 17 — we had quite a few GTC shooters, some shooters trained elsewhere (??), and some just self-taught. So, we had a big group –tons of fun
Many of your know that I have a pretty extensive sports background with baseball being my first love…..and, basketball a close second. I think that’s what gives me my "killer instinct" such a competitive SOB — my ability to not only handle pressure, but to thrive and conquer it. I’ve NEVER let anyone get into my head and never will. I tended to be the kind of sports player that practiced "OK" but, when the "lights came on" it’s time to perform.
Months before our June trip, I practiced every day/night and worked on my shot, stance, everything in preparation for Vegas. I still would shoot on casino tables close to home, but, the majority of my shooting was on the practice rig downstairs in my "chemistry lab". Some days I’d shoot 50 times…..other days 300 shots. But, I did it everyday religiously to prepare for Vegas.
Then, the first 5 days in Vegas, I had 10 rolls of maybe 20+ ….but, I did not kill it, and no fire bet wins. My shot looked great….but, when i went it 7’d-out it was with a 4-3 combo, so I knew I was "close" — i told the Princess that those 4-3’s will be 4-4 and 3-3 soon — just a matter of concentration, focus, and DOING IT !!
Then, finally on 6/13, when I hit that 6-pointer for 10K…..and 2 days later, hit a 5.5 fire for $3500 total with rolls of 64 and 52, respectively, it was exhilarating and satisfying. To make $20K for my friends and $10K for a husband/wife to use for a new house was awesome. Not to mention the $$$ I made for myself and the Princess !!
There was quite a bit of drama, disappointment, and frustration during those 10 days …. but, to win in that fashion ….it’s like hitting a game-winning Grand Slam in a State title game, etc. It’s just incredible.
So, the last night in town, I did something I love to do and always do on the last night every trip to LV — I go over to the "large watershow" — relax, listen to the music, watch the water, think about the shooting accomplishments, ALL of the hard work practicing, and the $$$ that was won for friends, family, etc. —- I just stood there, in awe, with tears in my eyes — just an overwhelming and emotional feeling.
CANNOT WAIT to do it AGAIN !!!

And, every practice session and "actual" casino session gives me an opportunity to evaluate the throws, make adjustments, etc.
Thanks again
