Spread the love

We met up with Mr. Finesse and Midnight on Tuesday morning when they arrived. However, so as not to be too tired from our drive, we went the afternoon before, and decided to try to get on a table. We did get our spots, and both our first rolls were very short. However, my second roll was a honey of a 30, although I don’t know how I managed to stay in my zone. On my left was a tall man (I can’t say "gentleman") with very long arms. Every roll he wanted to bet the "aces and sixes," but he wanted the stick to simply place the bets without actually saying what he wanted. And so began a back and forth game of throwing his chips at the stick, and the stick asking, "What do you want?" "You know what I want. Just place the bet." "You have to say what you want." And on and on with every roll. The box person did not say anything, and the base dealer agreed with the stick person. So the bet was left on the side, and "No bet" was decreed. Then the man would swing his long arm in front of me, demanding his bet to be placed, and I would patiently pretend to be setting the dice, waiting for the "game" to end on that particular roll. I would then go into my mantra, and shoot. I was tipping the dealers, of course, so no one rushed me to throw the dice. The box person finally changed, and the new one agreed to place the bet every roll without waiting for the man to say the bet. I finally threw the cursed 7, and since that man was still there, we colored up and left with our profits. I think it was more luck than anything else that I got to 30.

Tuesday morning we walked up to a table where our spots were available. The man next to me was the shooter, and had just made his point, so we bought in. Now this man starts complaining that we are delaying the game, and why did we buy in in the middle of his shoot. We said nothing, but put our chips in our rails, and he continued to shoot for another few rolls. Now, the guy next to him starts to shoot, has established a point, but the man next to me is out of chips due to his poor betting on the prop bets, and proceeds to buy in after the point is made! After the 7 out, he says, "It’s too crowded here," and he goes to the other end, where he again buys in after the point is established. Sandtrap and I just look at each other in disgust.
Midnight arrives, and tells us he had actually played the night before after we left, and this man was playing then also. So he had stayed up all night, and was still losing money and continuuing to buy in when we left the table.

Mr. Finesse then introduced us to Pepe’s pizza, which is very thin, and very good. As I rolled up to a table in my scooter, with the leftover pizza in a box in the basket, the supervisor brought me a chair and asked, "Oh, is that pizza for me?" "Yes," I responded. "It’s your tip for bringing me a chair." When I got up to go to the restroom, he said, "Hey, where are you going with my pizza?" "Well, you didn’t take it, so I assumed you didn’t want it," was my reply. What a nice supervisor he was.

After Midnight and Mr. Finesse left to go home, I played Pai Gow, and won over a $100 dollars, so I was very happy.

Unfortunately, the next day, due to a couple of accidents and heavy traffic, a 2 hour drive took us 4 hours to get home. Sandtrap was not a happy camper.

A nice report and fun to read because it was so well written. With the idiots at the table you were able to tell us the good (your 30 roll), the bad (the guy wanted the aces and 12) and the ugly (the poor idiot who kept buying in and lost). The other good side is that these guys lose big time and make it possible for us to win their money because we know what we are doing.

Thanks for posting.

Rose and Doc look forward to seeing you in Vegas.

Michael and I decided to head to our favorite Ct. casino at 4 PM Monday afternoon. we did not leave until 9 PM so we got there late, checked into our room and played until after 3 AM. I can’t do that any longer, I am just getting to an old SOB, need my sleep.

I was horrible throwing the dice on Tues, too tired because I had less than 2 hours sleep. Time to admit I am not a kid any longer.

Great seeing Marilyn and Charlie and I am looking forward to spending time with them next week in AC for their anniversary. this will be a good tune up for Vegas starting on the 22nd.

We will be celebrating our 32nd anniversary next week. And I just received my 2nd lab results since the end of chemo, and I am still in remission. Whoopee! Life is good!
