I’m looking forward to being in Vegas in September for a few reasons (in no particular order): (1) vacation, (2) Celebrate my b-day (3) Refresher Class.
My significant other will be with me for the trip (still not wanting to take a class). We’ve been searching different casino’s online, and trying to narrow down on where to stay. I think the last 2 in the running are The Gold Coast & Sams Town, we were considering one of the others that we stayed at before, but they are booked for saturday & sunday already, and I don’t feel like changing hotels mid-stay.
Just looking for any opinions from anyone else that may have stayed and have pro’s & con’s for either of the two.

Last time I stayed at the Gold Coast it was in real need of updating. If you were by yourself that would be fine, not to far from the venue and clean. Not much for the wife to occupy her time while your at the class and to far off the strip.
Sams is nice but again far from the happenings along the strip. Haven’t stayed there in over a decade so can’t say how it has aged.
I like to stay either on the strip (Mandalay Bay) or at the Rio.

Rio is nice. Sam’s is clean, older but the restaurants there are the pits. Only the Dunkin Donuts is worth getting any food. Definitely is not fancy
but I have been happy there. September we are staying downtown.

Stayed at Gold Coast on weekend.Nice people, good food, good price, good comps, clean rooms. if you have a harrahs card you can walk through the garage in about 3 minutes to the Rio and ride one bus to Bally or one bus to Harrah casino they run about every 20 minutes. After three days at the Coast I had comp rooms at the Rio great rooms.Rio has a elertronic crap table which I played when 💡 I could not get on a crap table,it seats 6 people one cool machine they need more of those in Vegas.

Luckyroll If you think that machine was cool you would have loved the machine in Marcopa were you could set the dice and throw them . Its gone now . I posted about it .
I like the Chinese food at Rio. close to were you get the shuttle .

For GTC events in Vegas I stayed at Plaza Suites, site of the classes. Nothing special but it works. Hard Rock is across the street and there is a grocery store and coin laundry close by. I have also stayed at the Rio and Paris both of which my wife and I liked.
