Civil Asset Forfeiture is on the rise and getting more rampant and law enforcement is getting more aggressive especially about seizing cash. In these cases, you are presumed innocent until you can prove yourself innocent. Even if you have done nothing wrong. and can prove the money is legitimate, the money may still be forfeited. It’s real and it’s very scary. Don’t think that just because you are a legitimate businessman and are traveling to a casino you are off the hook.

These cases are not just about gambles, of course civil forfeitures have done a lot of good in real drug cases. But stopping and robbing a gambler who is casino hopping was not the intent of the law. We as a group should be outraged by this and stand up and make some noise.
