Rose and Doc really had a great time while attending the AC Class. The weather was less than ideal, according to our knowledge, the temperature never got above freezing. On Thursday morning while driving to the class hotel there was one heck of a blinding snow storm. We could hardly see the building next to the road because of the snow coming down. It was a tough drive for the 15 block distance we had to drive. But we made it. From that point on it was simply cold with ice on the ground. Thank goodness the roads were clear.

Rose and Doc got to mentor the primer students. The class was small but had some great quality. It is amazing the improvement we were able to witness from Sat morning to Sun Afternoon. I can only say all the students were like sponges as they absorbed the information that the instructors gave to each one. It is a pleasure to see the growth. Thanks to Pit Boss, Mr. Finesse, Nick at Night, No Field Five, and Billy the Kid for their dedication to the students. Dom and Bob, thank you for your leadership. You are all the best. In addition Rose and Doc relearn as you teach them the GTC skills.

Now to the really fun part–use the GTC way in the casino. Rose and Doc were never behind–collectively– the entire trip. At one time each of us got down a little but the other was up. Using a common bank roll is a real asset. Did not play much on Wed as we arrived tired after a 7 hour plane flight through Chicago Midway to Philadelphia. Then a 1 hour and 25 minute drive to AC. Had a couple of decent rolls and were each up a couple of portraits of Ben Franklin–Ben or Bennies for short. We were able to play on Thursday morning prior to set up which takes the better part of the day. Played that night and Rose had a roll in the low 20’s and Doc a high teen, with a few short rolls but we were slowly growing the 401g.

At one point in the trip several of the instructors were at a table together and nothing was happening. Then Sandman came to life and his shot looked really good. I don’t remember any accurate number of rolls but it must have been in the low 30’s. We were up several Bennies which was wonderful since we had been down about 4 Bennies. So a good run. It was late. We were tired; so, we colored up and headed to the room for the night. Heard the next morning that we left at the right time as nothing really happened after that.

Of course Sat and Sun are dedicated to the class and frankly we are always pretty tired and play very little if any at the end of those days.

However there was Monday and Tuesday for some fun and games. Will not try to give a play by play but the highlights.

We were playing on Monday morning and Rose could not get position SR1 (she is a lefty) and said "I am going to play blackjack at an 8 deck shoe." Now we hate these multi-shoe games but she wanted to give it a shot. She is an excellent blackjack player. She returned in about 30 to 40 minutes and said that in the first shoe she won almost every hand and had a bunch of black chips in her hand!! Way to to Rose!!!

A little later she wanted to go play some full pay deuces wild video poker (VP). After a few hands she was dealt a straight containing 2 deuces. Her dilemna—1. hold the straight and win 10 quarters, 2. hold the 2 deuces and worst that could happen was she would have 3 of a kind for 5 quarters, or 3. hold the 2 deuces and possibly get the other 2 deuces and she would have 4 deuces and win 1000. To us this is a no brainer. She held the 2 deuces——and you guessed it she drew the other deuces. Doc was sitting next to her and up went her right fist just like Tiger Woods sinking a putt on the 18th green to win the Masters.

Funny thing the next day at a full pay deuces wild machine she was dealt 2 deuces and on the draw got the other 2. Doc wasn’t there but got a pretty quick text!!! 😀

She came back to the craps table and her position was open. The stick man was a cocky, short ball headed young jerk. He kept saying how this stuff doesn’t work. He would say "I can’t believe people pay good money to take a course that doesn’t work. The only way you can win is to slide the dice down the table so that the same side of the dice stay on top."

I said "but this is illegal." His a**hole response " that’s right and that’s why you can’t beat this game."

About this time the very nice dealer casually asked Rose if you she had taken a class. She responded, "no she had not, but she read a book and it couldn’t hurt to try." Then Doc spoke up and said laughingly "I taught her everything she knows about craps." This got a good laugh from the table and brought the discussion to a close.

Now the really fun part of this story, the stick man was relieved and moved to the dealer position on Rose’s side of the table. Once again, cocky as ever, he started up with his negative comments about our throw. Rose, who is very reserved and seldom says anything negative said "you are not being very nice and I AM TIPPING FOR YOU." To say this shut him up would be an understatement.

Now our final comment. Got up early on Tuesday morning our final day, and headed to the craps table. Doc got the SL2 position, a refresher student was at SL1, Rose at SR1 and a refresher at SR2, and two more refreshers at the SR end of the table. The dice went around 1 time with nothing happening. The dice came around a second time and Rose banged out a roll in the mid 30’s–probably a 35. Doc lost count. A great money maker. While this was going on at another table across the pit and unknown to us, several of the instructors were rolling. We did notice a lot of yelling and high fiveing going on over there at the same time we were winning money as we had several good rolls at our table in addition to Rose’s big roll. Talk about fun. Our table was doing well at the same time we were watching the other table. I don’t think it gets any better than that!

Had a long flight home on Wed and finally have caught up on our sleep. We can’t wait for Memphis and look forward to seeing many old friends and meeting new ones.
