Craps

Perceived Heat

Spread the love

I spent 5 days in Atlantic City playing Craps with many of my fellow instructors and students. In the last few weeks there were posts on this board about getting "Heat" from Casinos in AC.

In the entire time we played, which included many long rolls and some very nice wins, there was never the slightest aggravation from the pit or the dealers concerning the way we played.

This is what I and the other instructors do.

1. Hit the back wall with BOTH dice 99% of the time.
2. Do not take more than 7 – 10 seconds to get the shot in the air.
3. Tip the dealers.
4. Treat the casino employees with respect.

I can play anywhere in the country and the vast majority of the time I do not get hassled by the dealers or the suits.

Great advice NFF!

My wife (Lady Luck) and I always tip the way we were taught by Dom in the course and really don’t get any heat. Now, we are not in your league yet with long throws and big pay offs but we are getting better. When we win, the dealers win and everyone, including the suits, like that a lot.

In fact, let me add, during our 3 back to back to back 30’s, the dealers were cheering us on and hoping it would last longer. The dealer on our side as we started coloring up said "you guys are leaving? Your the only ones who know how to throw the dice".

So what Daryl said is so true. Follow the commandments and you won’t be hassled.

"you guys are leaving? Your the only ones who know how to throw the dice".

—–Interesting — at the AC casino we go to, the dealers tell all of us "just pick ’em up & throw them — why do what you do, it doesn’t matter anyway"

Same town …..Two different places

I have been playing in AC for over 20 years and I have never had any heat about my style of throwing the dice.

I did have my balls broken by one casino’s dealers just trying to give me a hard time. They were wise asses and they thought they could rattle me. All they did was piss me off and by commenting about my toss and then I asked them who else at the table was betting for them. Their answer was just me and I then proceeded to take all my bets down, set for a seven and lost their pass line bet and told them I was going to lose it on purpose so they did no get it.

The casino was Trump Plaza and we all know what happened to them. 😆

NFF is right on the money, follow the 20 commandments and collect the cash.

At one point, the evening table supervisor said, "Thank you for playing. Please come back. You are welcome here any time." The day supervisor also asked when we would return.

We have been playing in AC since we were the first students 13 years ago, and never get any heat, except as Mr. Finesse said, at Trump Plaza. And even they later begged me to return, but it was too little too late.
