Craps

Starting the new year off

Spread the love

Well it is starting to get cold here .
So am inside looking at smart craps results for Jan.
Total rolls were 1747.
I am still no were near passing any of the smart craps tests .
With a low SSR OF 5.97 TO High of 6.28 at end .
There were 278 7s rolled .That number is less then average but seems like not vary good .Till I go back and look to see how many were come out 7s . With 91 being come out 7s .
I am guessing that if I get another 1,000 rolls I may come close to the 1% but it is not easy .
Good Rolling. 🙂 🙂

Hang in there. Keep up the practice but remember perfect practice makes for perfect results. You certainly don’t want to let flaws get put into your muscle memory. Just be sure to self critique your throw by looking at how the dice look when they go through the air, hit and stop. Be sure to work on the basics. Don’t always play with chips as you will be more interested if you have a pay day, than you will be examining the results.

I know that Timmer once had a great post about "how to make money without setting the dice." Doing this you won’t care about the number rolled but how the dice look and and react. If you have pipless dice this may even be better. I know that Doc and Rose often use one green and one red die so that we can tell the results of each die.

Always go back to the basics with the grip, make sure the dice are level to all sides of the table, etc. Doing this can never hurt. After a warm up then go to look for results and record your SRR and smart craps.

Lastly, when possible show up for a class weekend for a refresher course, video, tune up or at the very least come to the open house so we can take a quick look at your throw. Besides there will lots of people you can play with before, during and after the class weekend.

Hope to see you soon.

I teach doctors physical skills and constantly have them paying me to check out their applications on patients.

Get someone to critique your throws. I am new at this and am having personal instruction because I know the value.

If you cannot do that, you most certainly should have a video analysis. Do the video and send it in. You will likely be astonished at the critique and how accurate they can be.

Might I ask who is giving you personal instruction and what are their qualifications?

There are a number of "dice control" people and groups or companies out there. Some are ok but none are as thorough as GTC. I myself follow a couple
and they do have some interesting differences. Some of it works but I think quite a bit is hogwash. (Like underhanded throws)

The others criticize GTC for being "cookie cutter" in their methods, which is true. The major teaching methods in many endeavors are like this. What makes the difference in my mind is that GTC will offer each student alternatives to suit the student without compromising the core. This is a sign of good teaching. We are all different in many ways such as height, weight, age, gender. People learn in different ways. Some learn better reading while others have to be shown and all by doing the exercises.

GTC is an investment in yourself. Are you worth it? Of course you are. It is a journey and each will travel it in their own way. Most to more success than
with the other people (companies) out there. You may have gotten lucky and found a good teacher. And maybe not. You can compare when you take a GTC primer and decide for yourself.

I am primarily self-taught. I just took the primer class last June. The betting lectures were more of a refresher for me and my son as we have both
followed GTC’s betting techniques for many years. We know our edge and bet into that edge as best we can. We will be taking the refresher in the fall.
The class did enhance our toss.

Maybe one day we will meet and be able to play some together. In the meantime, practice.

OMC, thanks for your insight into what we do. In my humble opinion, much of what you say is right on. We do appreciate you posting.
