Quick trip report

Spread the love

So Finesse, Sandman and myself took a quick trip to our favorite casino Thursday night. Got a nice suite and a comped dinner at Michael Jordon’s Steakhouse. Thursday night, two sessions and both were nicely profitable. Finesse and myself were both dead on while Sandman, who rushed up from work was a little rocky. After our session, sandman and I walked down to the pit with the $50 table and proceeded to watch a guy take $90,000 in cash out of his pockets and lose it in 20 minutes. A little naussiating. Friday morning I couldn’t sleep so I got up early and quietly slipped out of the room. Played a little blackjack while waiting for my team to get up. Finally met them at the $25 table when it first opened. Absolutely nothing like brand new dice on a hard felt. Love the sound. Anyway, Finesse to the left, Sandman shooting lefty from stick right 1 and me from 2. It was my pleasure to say Matt got his kinks out and the 3 of us were all on. We each had rolls in the 20’s. Went around the table 3 times, colored up our profits and hit the road. Quick stay with a quick hit. Very nice. Thanks guys!

Midnight

I must thank Midnight for suggesting that a quick trip to our local casino would be good medicine for me, he was so correct. It was great to be with friends and get back to playing my 2nd love – Craps- what a game.

I must confess that I had not picked up a set of dice since the September class in AC until Thursday afternoon about 1 hour before Midnight picked me up at home. Worked on my grip for a few minutes and we were off to the casino.

The first time the dice came to me I placed a $10 pass line bet and threw an 8, put single odds being conservative and then I threw a 6 with a come bet, put odds on it and came right back with an 8 making my point. I said to my self everything was going to be ok and I was off to the races.

I am going to say this right now and I truly mean this.

I love GTC with my partners, the instructors and all of th friends I have made in the last 17 years. GTC will be very instrumental in getting thru this difficult period I am in. I am ready to dedicate myself to playing as much as I can and taking every $ that I can from the casino’s.

Dom it is time for the two of us to start playing all the time like we did in the old days.

After my wife passed in 2010 I played for about 4 months every weekend. I lost every one of them. I stopped playing for a year. I did not stop practicing, it was ugly practices for a while but worked as therapy to eventually get my mind off of losing her. I was angry, I was lonely and lost. The second thing that happened was that two wonderful friends began calling me about 3 weeks after the funeral to have dinner out with them on Fridays.

They said very little about Anne but engaged me in conversation and just positive events coming up. Gray and I ride BMW’s and have ridden together for a long time. We met many times for breakfast and had a ride somewhere on Saturday’s. Now that I have a girlfriend we still get together with them regularly for evening dinners out.

Real friends are not the ones you have known the longest necessarily, they come into your life and say " I am here for you", then Prove It. These two came and proved it.

Mr. Finesse, craps helped me and will help you too. The grieving is different for everyone of us and last different amounts of time. The friends are an important part of the grieving as well. Don’t just stay home but go out with them and enjoy. Time does not always heal but it does dull the pain.

Anne and I would have been married for 50 years next October 20th. It is a day I am not looking forward to as we had talked all of our married life about celebrating 50 as we had married young. It will be a difficult day.
With my friends and girlfriend I will get through it though. Who knows, maybe Lynn will even be my wife by then.

The anger will subside and the best memories will always be with you. I care for you and so do many others.

OMC, first let me offer my condolences to you! I have been married for 11 years and don’t know what I would do if I lost my wife. So kudos to you for getting thru it as will Bob. On another note, If it will help, I will take Finesse to the casino every week until he gets thru this. That’s the type of guy I am. Doing strictly for others. Bob, I can pick you up Thursday afternoon!

Goldfinger, you can fly to my home and we will drive to south Louisiana when that place is finally open. Could be fun if the situation is right for us. Give it some thought.

Also as I wrote in an email off the web there should be some opportunities int he Duke City in March and May between the GTC classes.

Give ma a call.
