So I wanted to get an idea from people about their favorite cities to travel to to gamble and why! Is there something specific about the city you like? Restaurants? Shopping? Entertainment? Activities? Obviously Vegas is one of mine for all of the reasons above, but I also love Aruba. The people are so nice. My wife loves the beaches and I don’t mind them because of the cool crosswinds. I love riding off-road motorcycles around the northern side of the island. And obviously I lived there for two years so I know all the local secrets about the island.
So what’s yours and why? I thought this would be a fun topic to talk about so please post!

For Rose the shopping is excellent and she spends a lot of time doing just that. As to food there are some OK restaurants in the casinos but nothing quite like Vegas or other destinations. However the ones in the casino will do for a quick break from the tables. BUT go out on the economy and you will find some outstanding places to eat. You simply need to look around. The best part is the New Mexican food—out of this world. It is not like any Mexican food you have ever eaten.
You are only a stone’s throw from Santa Fe–about 35 miles and it is a great tourist spot. Well worth the drive. It is a great place for art if you have an interest for that. Again great New Mexican food. A couple of casinos in the Santa Fe area but the craps tales have been unplayable in the past.
Biloxi—if you love the southern hospitality Biloxi MS is a great place. Several casinos in the Biloxi/Gulfport area and here there are a couple you will love. There is a brand new one and we hope to check it out when we go in January. Comps are pretty easy at the two we frequent. If you like seafood you will be in heaven at the Mississippi Gold Coast.
Atlantic City still has something for us old Texans. The Boardwalk is so unique for us. Hopefully the closing of several of the casinos–which is a sad state of affairs—will make those that survive more competitive and profitable. Guess time will tell there.
Those are a few of the places we do enjoy. There are still a lot of states where we have not been and now that we are retired we hope to have the opportunity to check some of them out in the future.
Look forward to comments from others.

The local Mexican food is great. And if you’re with doc he will take you to his favorite pie place.
Just don’t go during the balloon festival as there are no rooms available.
I can be there in 5 1/2 hours.
It is also very close to the lost treasure I am currently working on.

Midnight, sorry I did not mention that we to really enjoy Aruba. The water is truly beautiful, the people friendly, great food–Driftwood restaurant and El Gaucho– to name a couple. Shopping is over the top for Rose and the ladies.
As to the casinos our experience is that craps and BJ don’t have too much to love. I am hearing that lately they do not allow dice setting at the craps tables. Also the BJ is 6 and 8 deck shoes many with continuous shuffle machines—or CSM which stands for "chicken s**t machines."
If you ever go Doc and Rose would love to meet you there. We love the place.’
