AC The trip

Spread the love

Made a quick two day trip to AC. Getting playing time is difficult. Tables are often crowded. This morning I started at the casino where I was staying. At 5:30 AM, my spot was taken. I drove to another casino and my spot was taken. I drove to a third casino and lo and behold, the table was empty. I was shocked. I ended up playing alone from 6 AM until 7:40 AM when I left for breakfast.

My first two rolls were 5 and 7. After that I got hot. A 40 and a 31. Then a 5, followed by a 21, 7, 14 and 21. I was tipping like mad with the casino’s money. When I left I thanked the crew. A dealer said, no, we thank you. Yesterday, at this same casino I found my spot at SR1. I again had two crappy rolls, followed by a 31. There was another shooter, apparently a GTCer. He had a few crappy rolls and then got hot. He made four points. All in all, a very good in and out trip. I still have not figured out after over 10 years of doing this how the switch goes on and off.

I do not think there is a switch. I believe some day’s we just don’t have it, like every other sport good and bad day’s.

Bet smart and wait for the good day to develop and then take home the cash.

Finesse is correct. You can’t make it happen. You simply wait for it to happen, make the good bets we teach and take home the money. The GTC way will make it happen more often.

One thing you mentioned that we always find crazy, is the fact you go to one casino and all the tables are crowded as all get out, go to another and your spots are taken, yet go to a third or 4th casino and the place is empty. We particularly commend you for taking your time until you found the place you wanted to play. This really takes discipline. There will be times when you can’t find a place to play and you head home. As Dom says, this is the mark of a true advantage player—the casino’s worst nightmare.

Will you be in AC during the class? Would be great to visit with you.

Philham — I’m curious to know the name of the casino in AC (* just send me PM *) where you had your best rolls

We (the Princess & I) go to AC once every 3 weeks or so, but with the casinos getting closed (one in particular) has really impacted where we go and how many times per month we make the AC trip

Please send me a (*PM) when you have time …. thanks so much –(the curious Lion)

Cannot wait to see everyone next Friday at the Open House

ok great point you have brought up, Philham.I have really thought about that also. One never knows when that big one or ones will come along especially when the dice look good. But just when you think you should go home, and bankroll is low, BOOM a 30 or 40 roll. But I have also thought about the other side of this. When do you leave? Lets assume the 40 roll was first. Obvoiusly a good profit was made. Do you go home then, or stay to give some of it back in hopes of shooting another high count. So I would like to know the strategy that everyone uses when this happens. My tendency is to stick around and windup giving some of it back. Does anyone just pack up and leave or do we worry about what the pit boss will think such as "hit and run" which might be frowned upon. I know we all think the next roll or rolls will be bigger but how many times does that happen. We have to think that or what is the point of all of the hours of practice we put in. Would love to know how everyone handles that situation. Professor
P.s. I would like to add to this a different situation which just happened to me. First time up to bat, did not count, but not a long roll, but decent, that gave me a $300 profit. Should I have left or just taken the money and run. Professor again

I was supposed to leave early Wednesday morning. But, I thought with a four figure profit I was not going to give it back this trip. I left Tuesday evening. I cannot get an uncrowded table in the evening, so staying would have been a waste of my time. I could have gotten up at 5 AM on Wednesday, but I would have been exhausted the rest of the day. As Arnold said, "I will be back."
