So the past few days my dice were starting to split in flight. I focused on my grip. Everything would seem fine, but the dice would still split. I was focused on my fingers on the dice. I was focused on making certain an equal amount of skin was on each die. No help.
Finally after staring at my digits for so long, I finally thought, gee, that thumb nail seems kinda long. Clip, clip, clip. Problem solved.
The thumbnail must have been coming into contact with the dice during the swing.
Always lessons to be learned.

Probably you are correct. Also check the finger nails on the 3 fingers used when you throw. I know old Doc keeps the nails–all nails on the throwing hand–very short. It really does seem to help. Rose keeps hers pretty short but not as short as mind and it works for her. Think this is a good self critique for you. Always think outside of the box.
Thanks for posting this as others will learn from it as well.

I don’t have problems with fingernails being to long. I get a manicure twice a month!

It is funny Chuckman that you bring this up for I have always thought that finger nails could have an effect on the toss. I am speaking form the stand point that the finger nail lends supprt to that fleshy top or pad of your finger when shooting. If one pushes down on the pad of your finger you will see it will compress against your finger nail. Therefore, in my sick mind, depending on how long your nails are the amount of that compression could effect the throw. No matter how light you hold them there is always a compression. When I am having any trouble with the dice splitting, double pitching etc., the first thing I do is look at the lenght of my finger nails and cut them if they seem long. Another point is that when the dice come off your fingertips and the nails are long they may have a last millisecond effect on the throw since they will come in contact with the dice if they are properly coming of your fingertips. I know I am a sick puppy but I want to so badly beat the casinos that I will examine all parts of the shooting of dice to get the best results. Professor

Well when I took the class I had one long nail that was not letting me git the grip right . Dice pilot saw the problem the second day .You could say that I had a top over my dice when throwing that hurt the flight . 🙂 🙂
Little things do count .
