AC REPORT JULY 2014

Spread the love

I haven’t posted any reports for awhile, because there wasn’t much to write about. As we have said many times, this is a journey, and we aren’t always able to toss long rolls. Plus, it is now Sandtrap’s turn to take care of me. I had to recuperate from acute asthmatic bronchitis and pneumonia; then I had a bad fall and had to go by ambulance to the ER; and now I have had really bad arthritis in my knees, and find sitting and standing for long periods very painful. I am getting injections of hyalgan, and am hoping that will help. Sandtrap, on the other hand, is doing very well, and has been without a cane since February.

On Tuesday, July 15th we returned to AC and the entire day was a struggle for both Sandtrap and myself. The only good session was after lunch, when Sandtrap tossed a gorgeous 44, after 3 point 7’s. There was also a slot tournament that day, and I wound up with over 7500 points, which put me into 5th place, with a win of $250 in slot play. I used it to play video poker, and turned it into a profit.

Wednesday was a better day, and we were joined by Jack, who opened with a 10, 23, and 9 tosses.
Sandtrap followed with a 25, 5, 5, and 14. I did reasonably well with a 22, 23, and 7. I played Pai Gow the rest of the day. Thursday was again up and down. During the morning session, Sandtrap had one 31 roll, I had a 40 and a 32, and Jack couldn’t get anything going. Again, I played Pai Gow the rest of the day.

We returned for only two days on July 30th and 31st. We had some very low rolls, and some in the teens. The best was my 22 on the 30th, and Sandtrap’s 30 on the 31st. When I went to play Pai Gow, Sandtrap returned to the craps table. There was a don’t player who was harrassing him, and even when he went to the other table, the don’t player followed him, and then back again, until Sandtrap finally quit.

We were able to take several walks on the boardwalk and eat outdoors while people-watching. There was a sand sculpture contest, and two large ones were still standing. The weather was beautiful, with a nice breeze off the ocean. We then left for Massachusetts to help babysit the 5 grandchildren under 5 years of age. We returned home last night, and are now exhausted.

Glad to hear Sand Trap is doing better and sorry to hear of your problems. Hope you feel better soon. You must be tired after time with 5 grandchildren. I just spent time with 2 of mine and that tired me out. See you both in AC.
