Help with correct size craps table

Spread the love

I am wanting to purchase a regulation craps table, but I have limited space. I know that they come in 8, 10, 12, 16 foot lengths. What is the smallest table that you can use and still get a full length practice throw? Example: If I throw from SL3 on a 8 foot table is it the same as throwing from SL1 on a 10 foot tabe?

Well, yes and no, 66" is Stick L/R 1 for an 8 foot table, 78" for a 10 footer, 90" for a 12 footer and so on. divide the table length by two and add 18" or so for the first shooting position left or right. Add and additional 18" or so for the next etc, etc.

If your really cramped for space your best bet might be a throwing and receiving station setup.

For my money a 12 foot table is the best solution. You can practice for 12’s, 14’s and 16’s. However, I won’t even consider throwing on anything longer than 14, and then it must be in S L/R 1 only.

Stephen C thanks for the info.

I know that i can fit a 10 foot table and according to your numbers i should be able to practice from simulate a 12 foot table by just backing up a bit.

I use a throwing station and a receiving station. You can move the distance between them to whatever size casino table you are trying to practice for. GTC sells stations, or they are very easy to build. With stations you never have to worry about the "right size" table, you have a table form 8′ to 16′. Space – stations take up almost no space by comparison to any table. Good Luck Today, it is a great day to Throw.
