I just returned from a wonderful 12 night cruise from London through the Baltic Sea. Everything was wonderful, but the casino was unbelievably slow. There were many times that I was able to shoot by myself for 30-40 minutes, then a group would show up, go around the table once or twice, then it’d be all me again. I was able to get familiar with the crews and bosses and casino host, which was great for friendly chatter at rest times. It also let me practice with people watching as groups walked through and stopped to watch the game.
Anyway, I quickly learned (on the first throw) that this cruise line only takes single odds. I said "oh" and pulled my odds down to single. I worked some come bets, then suddenly realized that I’d not fully processed what had happened. Hopefully I was right in changing my betting strategy to be place bets only except for my own line bet. My 5 counting saved a LOT of cash (once I stopped worrying about getting rated and making stupid bets during the 5 count). Was I thinking right about the betting strategy on single odds? I obviously had no other casino option!
Looking forward to the AC class in September!

The come bet has the 2:1 edge on the come out roll, other than that you’re better with a place bet on a single odd table.
Just my opinion.

Yes you were right on that strategy . See past posts Re High Seas or Cruise Casinos. I have taken a number of cruises in the past and most are single odds and some do offer double.
We took the same or similar cruise 3 years ago and agree that was near the top of all the cruises we have taken.
I found the same thing as you did. Not many playing craps in Europe. (Must be the Euro!!!!!!!) he he
Good shooting and cruising

There are so many other things to do on a cruise and we concentrated on that. Would we take another cruise? Yes but unless some things have changed in the casino we would stay out of the casino. To us a cruise is not a gambling destination of choice but a time to relax and see some of the world.
Just a few comments from the peanut gallery.
