Great class weekend, even with the Electric Daisy Carnival in town. We are convinced that the if the lades used $50 a yard to make there very small bikini bathing suits they wore, they would get change from a $5 bill. We raided 2 daughters and would not have let the girls out of the house dressed like that.
We had a great group of students who came to learn and learn they did. The learning curve was excellent. We had 2 instructors to no more than 4 students at each throwing station so instruction was intense.
The no 7’s contest which is always fun had a new twist this year. After several of the students had rolled a couple of turns we had 3 students in a 3 way tie. In the finals the first one had 3 rolls. The second who only needed 4 rolls but had a 3 roll as well. As you might guess the third finalists had a 3 roll—again a 3 way tie. Finally one of the Advanced Students had a decent roll and was the big winner. Most entertaining and fun.
If you haven’t ever taken a class, I suggest you do so and if you have taken a class, sign up for a refresher. Many of the primer students are well on there way to becoming all around advantage players. Did not work with the Refreshers or Advanced students, but I am willing to bet there improvement was over the top.
Now to the fun part. Rose and Doc did have the opportunity to play a little both before and after the class. Although we do count each others rolls we don’t keep any permanent records as we are concentrating on our rolls and betting at the table. We arrived on Tuesday late after a long plane ride and pretty much went to bed with some BJ and Pai Gow poker for low stakes. On Wed not much happened but a few in the teens but way to many rolls where we would have a quick 7 out. Then we ran into several instructors and former students. Again a few decent rolls with a few in the teens but nothing to write home about.
Then it happened. Raf got the dice and proceeded to roll a 48 according to Rose and several others and we were way ahead–thanks Raf. Raf was right on as I could see numbers on the dice and they were perfect. Thursday was set up and we were too tired to play but lost a little back. Friday was open house and the Meet and greet followed by class all day Sat and Sun.
Played a little on Sunday night but called it a night.
Then came Monday. The dice went around once with nothing to brag about and finally came back to Doc. Started out with 2 craps and an 11 so dice not looking too good. Made a slight adjustment to the grip (Grip is 85% of a good throw) and banged out a 47. Was double dipping several numbers (come and place bets on the same number) before the ugly 7 finally showed its head. Our best money maker.
Went to bed Monday night and we decided to lock up our winnings–11 new portraits of Ben–and headed to the airport, but not before we made a couple of stops so that Rose could hit a couple of fabric stores to get a few supplies for her business/hobby of making purses.
An outstanding class weekend and a winning weekend to boot. It doesn’t get any better than that.
Hope to see everyone soon.
Rose and Doc

Portraits of Ben — Love it — I’m looking forward to stuffing my fanny pack with some this weekend in AC; Going to my favorite place tonight — not too many more trips left to that place as it’s shutting the doors the end of September (OUCH !!) — seems like my favorite places are getting reduced each and every year
Looking forward to seeing you & Rose sometime soon !!
