This is note is long over due in being posted. Will give a general outline as best we remember so hope Goldfinger will add some more detail about his and Lefty’s rolls.
We met up with Goldfinger (Butch) and Lefty in central New Mexico for a little fun and games. We both came in on Wed but very little play on arrival day, as is the usual for us. Rose and Doc were up a little but not much.
On Thursday we opened the table at 10:00 am with only one side open. Only a crew of two was available–stickman and one dealer–only half a table was open. Finally talked them into having no stick man but using 2 dealers with the dealers also doing the stick when the dice were going to the opposite end of the table. It worked well with no stickman in the way. Nothing really happened that morning with a few in the teens but way too may short rolls that were losers. Played a little blackjack and got killed. Played it correctly but the short term variance was a killer. Rose played some Ultimate Texas Holdem and won a little back. Took a break until after lunch.
Goldfinger got hot and had a roll in the low 30’s. However Doc and Rose were not at the table as we were playing BJ, our positions were not open. We won a little but missed a good roll.
Thursday it was more of the same. Some teens until Goldfinger had another roll in the 30’s. A good money maker for sure. It certainly got us caught up and ahead for the day.
That night things were not going well. Rose went to play some Ultimate Texas Holdem with Goldfinger and Lefty coaching from behind her. She did well. She loves these games but know they have a negative expectation and plays low stakes for short periods of time. Doc stayed at the table and had a respectable 28 again a good money maker. Of course he have to show them his 1 green chip and 3 white ones!!
Think Goldfinger had a 3rd roll in the 30’s but he can post the details.
That was pretty much it for the trip. On Friday Goldfinger and Lefty headed home. We hung around a little longer as out flight out was not until early Sat. morning. Gave rose a chance to do some shopping for the grand kids and look for some material for her purse making hobby/business as it is both. We headed to a first class A number 1 New Mexican restaurant and filled up. If you haven’t eaten this good food you are missing a great treat. We are from Texas and grew up on TEXMEX which we love. But this New Mexican stuff is also great—just different, not better, not worse but fantastic.
Sat morning came and we were out of town at first light to West Texas for the Grand Daughters ballet production and much fun with the grand kids for 3 days. I call this two vacations in one—both very different but both doing what we love best.
VEGAS NEXT WEEK. SEE EVERYONE THERE.
Rose and Doc

If you play for comps forget it. They don’t give much credit for table play. They want the players playing machines.

OK, OK, now name the restaurant. I graduated high school there but haven’t been back since my Mother passed, 10 years ago. Next trip try Mac’s Steak in the Rough. Also the taquitas and have a vanilla malt with them. Ummm.
