Haven’t posted many of my trip reports recently. Have made six trips, in the last eight months. Will try to catch up with them in the next day or two, starting with the most recent trip last week.
Since I’m starting at the end had an interesting end to this last trip.
On last Thursday, we got up early and found the one table where we were staying off strip to be empty. Expected to play one casino before getting home to perform some grandparent duties for our daughter.
First roll was a come out seven winner followed with a come out five. Took me three rolls to repeat the five. Then came out on the nine with a seven out three rolls later. I was a small winner on that roll.
CFer had a roll of 12 that I lost a white on.
My next roll started with a craps and a yo before getting a point of eight. Couldn’t make the 8 but had three winners on the six before the seven out. Even though that roll was longer than my first, I made less on it than on my first roll, but was a winner.
The next roll by the CHer was the weird roll. He had a roll of 27, starting out with a CO 4 with the four right back for a pass line winner. Started his next CO with two naturals, then a point of six that he eventually repeated. He had 7 more 4s, which I was on that it had ridden from a $10 buy up to a $190 buy when he’s evened out. I made almost $400 almost exclusively from the 4 before the 7 out.
My last roll was on 4 starting with a craps and making no point so I lost on this roll.
I qualify CFers before betting on them, and will try to not play much when CFers are at the table, I don’t bet much on a CFer. However each on the previous five trips I was a net loser on CFers each of those trips. However, that win made me a winner on CFer bets this trip.
My first day on Monday was a bad day. Started out with rolls of 6, 13, 6, 2, 13, 11, and 2, with me losing on the single digit rolls and winning a little on the double digit rolls at the casino coming into town. Sally won a little though.
After checking in at Harrahs I found a five dollar table, but as soon as I started several others showed up. My first roll was a three, and even though the table had filled up I waited for eight shooter before the dice got back yo me.
I promptly had a point seven roll and left down at that casino.
Walked on down to the Cromwell and had a roll of 23 making a point of four and one natural but very few 6/8s. Rolled one more time width a roll of only 4 which offset most of my winnings on the longer roll.
Met a GTC person and he’d husband at an off strip casino. I only rolled three times, with rolls of 3, 14 and 7. The other DI, had rolls of 6, 13, and 6 while her husband had rolls of 3, 13, and 3. So I was a net loser on that $3 table on my own rolls as well as on others rolls.
After grabbing something to eat, I had rolls of 10, 3, 10, 3, and 21. However 6/8s continued to stay away and I only made one point, which was a five, at that casino.
After my 21 roll the table started to fill up and I went to a table and I found another $5 table at the neighbor casino.
Rolls didn’t improve there either as my rolls were 5, 4, 7, and 6, all of which I lost on. I followed that with a roll 11 that I recovered some on. Went to the next neighbor casino and had a roll of 18 that I made money on and hadn’t bet anything on CFers when I called it a night.
The day was not a good one and my SRR was well less than the CFer normal of 6.
Next day I had continuing education but rolled once at lunch with a roll of 19 that started with two naturals followed with a point of five, which I never made. I was up over a third of my buy in.
After my classes were over I went over to Rio for a slot tournament that Sally and I were both in. We both had lousy first round scores.
Came back to the strip and had rolls of 7, 2, 9, and 16. I may more on the last two rolls than I lost on the first two but had loss on the CFer so was town at that casino.
We had a meal and I returned to the tables and things hadn’t changed much as I had rolls of 7, 2, 9, and 3, all o which were losses. Fortunately, the next roll was my best for the trip, a roll of 32. Made up what I lost on the four previous rolls. Made points of 4, 10, 9 twice, and came out on the 8 which I couldn’t make for a four point fire bet. Changed table to be on an empty table and started out with four natural which turned out to be a roll of 8 and followed with a roll of three and then a roll of 22. Left that table since it was now full and called it a night.
Had CE again on Tuesday and at lunch caught a CFer money making roll before he’s sevened out and since the table filled up I left because I wouldn’t have time to roll before getting back to my classes.
After my classes on Tuesday, I didn’t go back to Rio for my second slot round. Sally had gone back earlier for hers and even though she improved she wound up out of the 525 winners with a score that brought her to 912th out of over 1150.
Rather I started out with rolls of 7 and eleven each of which were exactly break even rolls. Followed those two rolls with a roll of $17 on which I won a single dollar. Rolls were spread to numbers I wasn’t on. I called it quits on that table and had lost a little on CFers.
Took a break and watched some TV in the room. Went back down to the table and started out with roll of 2 and 4 with me collected on the six twice on the four. I reduced my betts after the second six so that I was slightly plus before the seven showed.
I wonder if that was proper even though it was positive this time. Comment anyone?
I followed with rolls of 13, 2, and then 25. Since I was up a third of my buy in I called it a night.
We had taken the Total Reward Visa card which upgraded us to Platinum level and also gave us a 24 hour buffet pass. Had first used the buffet pass at Harrahs and weren’t impresses with the buffet.
I was through with CE so we went to the buffet at Planet Hollywood for breakfast and played. Breakfast buffet was good. The pit boss recognized me as well as one of the dealers. Remember, I’m primarily a red chip player so I don’t stand out.
Started out with rolls of 2, 4, and 11 followed by a roll of 24. The 24 had only one point, the 8, one natural and seven 5s which I was on but not pressed much.
Followed the 24 with rolls of 11, 16, and 16 all of which were winners. I had the table to myself but a couple started watching and the dealer was doing a good job of explaining the game fairly to them.
I think someone had said before they wish there was a card available that we could give to newbies to recommend GTC. I thought of that while I was rolling.
On our way back to the hotel, we stopped at Paris. The table was empty and even though it was a $10 table I decided to play. First to rolls were rolls of three with me collecting nothing.
However next roll started with a point of 10 which I made. Next point was also 10 which I made. After a craps CO point was 4 which I made and that was followed by a point of 10 which I made again. Final point was a4 again which I didn’t make. I also rolled four 6s and three 8s out of this 25 roll hand.
We checked out of Harrahs and went to our off strip hotel.
When we got there two table were open but both were full so we drove to another off strip hotl.
It has a 9-6 JOR better 50 play penny VP that Sally likes. She got two Royals on one play and made money.
The craps table was $10 and even though there was only one other player, after I had losing rolls of 2 and 3, I didn’t care for the crew today and left to join Sally. I made $20 playing five rows on the VP.
When we went back to where we were staying, I had rolls of 9, 6, 3, 12, 5, 10, and 16. And was about even on my shooting. This casino has the repeat bet and I think this was the first time I had seem someone collect on when the shooter came out and made the nine three times and I was on him, though not on the repeat bet.
Incidentally, I asked the dealers if they wanted a dealer bet on the line next to me or on the repeat bet and they chose the line bet. I do the same thing where the fire bet is available and usually the dealers choose the line bet over the fire bet. However, one time this trip the dealer chose the fire bet. Bad choice, next roll was come out natural which would have been a dealer winner and I didn’t even make one point.
Nothing else worth talking about that evening, although I was up about a Benjamin that evening.
To summarize, this trip. I rolled 83 times with an average roll length of 9.65. I had a SRR of 7.00. My on axis ratio was 43.
I had 9 point seven out and 13 rolls of 3 and 13 more rolls of 4-6.
My earlier trips will be covered later.
