Fist Bumps and High fives

Spread the love

Whenever I am shooting well, I have to be super protective of my shooting hand. I shoot lefty from SR1. I can become besieged my fist bumps and high fives. I always turn so that my right hand is the only one in contact with the other shooters. Some people will exuberantly smash my hand. They are not getting to my left.

The second problem is not losing my mindset or Zenlike trance. I try to focus on shooting in a somewhat robotic way. I try to tune out any distractions, i.e, loud, drunk, belligerent people. Admittedly, fist bumps and the like are somewhat intrusive, but ignoring them has its hazards too. Friendly people can turn on you for rejecting their camaraderie. To some extent it is a lose lose situation. I have learned to stay on course with some physical contact. I have convinced myself that it is the lesser of two evils.

Great idea and I will use it! I also don’t want to just ignore people who are having a good time and want to share it when I am tossing.
It also will keep your shooting hand cleaner to not expose it to other people at the table. As Martha Stewart would say "A clean shooting hand is a good thing!" 😀

One should not use your shooting hand for anything other than shooting when at the tables. Do not pick up a drink with your shooting hand. If it is an iced drink the moisture on the outside of the glass can get on your fingers. Even a hot drink could spill or there could be some liquid on the outside of the glass or cup that could get on your fingers. If you have a snack, use your non-shooting hand for grabbing the snack and putting it in your mouth.
