Spread the love

Just got back from three days in Vegas. It was a rough one. I went with my daughter and son-in-law. They wanted to go downtown and play on a three dollar table. I agreed and we actually found one that once pretty nice. Only double odds though. Well I bought in for one hundred dollars to give it a try. They had a counter there on the table to record the throws and the dice went around till they reached me. I put down my bet and one for the gang. They couldn’t say thanks enough times. I proceeded to throw a 34. I cashed out for 1350 dollars. I placed the six and eight for the dealers and controlled the bet along with the pass line bet. We had a ball. I played the Big Skinny and as the Doc says, I did a lot of double dipping(come bet and place bet combined). I was a joyous player.
Unfortunately, the rest of the trip I couldn’t throw a point to save my life and it was a 10 dollar tables with 3,4,5 odds. I was chasing it and Doc knows what happens when you chase it. I bet many of you know what I am talking about. My dice looked good and I would get my bets built up nice and then came the ugly one. My luck was terrible and I know that also am ready for a tuneup and maybe the video in Vegas. I have practiced a lot (just about every day). The dice looked good in the air but I know I am not quite there yet. I have improved a lot since my last class but there is still plenty of way to go. I am still learning when to take a walk Doc and go eat another ice cream or take a nap.
I have the 401g to withstand a loss but it does work on my psyche when I was doing so well and then not a thing afterwards. Talk about going from the penthouse to the outhouse……
To all of you who helped with suggestions on where to go, thanks. It was a big help. I tried several places, all with the same results. I will now lick my wounds and get back to practice.
I did have success in tight situations where I had to shoot around chips. My target practice paid off and I did not get one ounce of heat. In fact, they really welcomed me to please come back wherever I played. I think the next time I go I will look forward to joining a couple of you to play and get feedback on what I could improve on. I would like to feel like I can contribute first.
By the way, each time I went to the tables and tried to throw it was only from my spot SL1 and only on tables that were to my liking, so no excuses. I was humbled once again and I am easily humbled when it comes to this game of ours. I will see some of you in June in Vegas and thanks for all the posts. They are very helpful. DoughBoy

Great post. I really enjoyed reading it. Great throw the first night. Last year in Vegas, I could not win a thing to save my life. I actually gave up on craps and stuck to mostly Blackjack. Even then, I could not win a hand. I had 20, dealer drew to 21. I got a BJ, so did she. My friend, who is not a gambler asked me to join him at a casino on the southern part of the strip. They offered 1000x odds on craps for a very short period! Anyway, sit down at a BJ table. it is a $2 minimum. My friend takes out his $20 and I take out my $300. Why i don’t know, but I put up $4 and won. Then I increased it to $6 and won. Then $8 and won! And it kept going and going. So I think you get my point. Anyway, as far as the next class, take a tuneup but definitely take the video elite. I highly recommend it. It gives you the opportunity to go back all year long and look at the video and correct any mistakes you may be making. In 10 years from now, I will still do a video elite every year.
