Vegas Nov short trip

Spread the love

Last time I was in Vegas was Oct 2011 for the GTC meet and greet so when two of my close friends announced they were getting married in Vegas on 11/12/13 and my wife wanted to go I was really excited. I really missed not going in Oct. for the GTC event. Since my stroke in May 2012 I have practiced very little and played even less. I practiced as much as I could but I arrived on Monday with pretty low expectations. I was too tired to do anything on Monday but Tuesday morning while my wife was sleeping/recovering from the trip I jumped into my electric wheelchair we had rented from a local company thru the hotel and went down to the casino to check things out. The craps tables were not crowded at 9am but my spot at sl1 was occupied by a player who didn’t look like he was going anywhere so I went to eat some breakfast.

Following a very good breakfast I headed back to the tables to see if the sl1 camper had moved on. On the way back I am putting along as I see a group of 8 headed towards me with two women leading the way one of whom is focused on her cell phone. The other woman gives her an elbow to warn her she is about to run into me, I am stopped at this time. The two women split and walk around me but the man following the cell phone zombie doesn’t see me in time and almost fell into me. He puts his right hand on the back of my chair to stop his fall but the hot cup full of coffee he was carrying goes sailing past my head hitting the floor and splashing hot coffee on the legs of the cell phone zombie and her female friend. The two women are furious with each other and the guy who was carrying the coffee who is staring at me like it was my fault. The other two couples are laugh about as hard as one can without peeing oneself. I excused myself and continued to the tables.

Okay the sl1 camper is gone. I buy into the $10 table and since there are only two other players at the table as soon as I get my chips into the chip rack I have the dice in front of me. I start with a min pass line bet setting the hardways threes up 5s facing me. Comeout is a 6:4 ten. sticking with the hardways set I continue with two come bets a hard 4 and a 5. I make the 5 put up two more come bets which come with a 9 and an easy 6. I now have four numbers working with max odds. Since I now have a come bet out on each roll When I hit the 6 then the 9 I am up and down on those numbers. I have some of the casino’s money in my rack now and 5 numbers working with full odds but the ten is still stareing me in the face. I now have all six box numbers covered with a $30 place on the 8 as well as a come bet with full odds on the same number. I have gone up and down on a few of my come bets but that darn ten.

So I decide to chase the ten by setting the 2v. I proceed to throw a few more times hitting a few more box numbers and then I finally hit my ten. I stick with the 2v hitting the 4 twice which still had a come bet and a $30 buy bet. then hit another ten that has a similar bet on it. During this I have thrown a few hard 4’s and the dealer and stick are trying to sell me a hardway bet. I explain that I don’t play the middle bets but I throw then 4 white chips and tell them one each on the hardways for the crew. They seem to be baffled by the fact that I have’nt placed a hardways for myself. I hit a few of the hard numbers and a few more box numbers before throwing a seven. Not a monster roll but it was profitable.

Since there were only three of us at the table the dice were coming around fast not giving me enough time for my legs to recover and the other two players were making comment like" does he get to throw if he isn’t betting" so I colored up and went up to the room to check on the wife.

We left town on Friday and due to the wedding and the partying I didn’t get another opportunity to play. It was a very fun trip and added some to my 401G. Not bad for a diabled old fart.

Long rolls and a happy Holidays to all my GTC friends.

You could not have played the hand any better. The perfect reason to play The Big Skinny. Hope others will see this as come betting is the best way to go.

Great Post. Thank for sharing.

Thanks all for the kind words and encouragement. I am getting stronger and am well on the path to getting my medically suspended drivers license back. Look forward to many trips to AC this winter and look forward to AC in March.

Hey Butcher. Haven’t seen you in a year or more…if you even remember. You had a long roll at that place with the fountain out front. You bailed about 5 of us out of losing hands. Glad you’re playing and obviously doing well. I only heard through the grapevine about the ‘crap’ you were going through.

Glad you are feeling better. Nice report and like someone else said any time you can add to your 401G is a good thing.
