Is there a meet and greet on Friday for the Memphis class?

Posted by: Mr Finesse on November 18, 2013, 5:13 pm

We do not have a meet and greet in Memphis but we do have the open house all day on Friday.

If all goes well I plan on taking the class in AC. It will be my first class. I’ve been talking about it for a while and trying to talk my buddies into it.

What is the main difference between Meet and Greet from an open house?

The "Open House" runs all day on the Friday before the weekend class and is open to everyone. Registered students and non-students are invited to see the instructors, have their throws looked at by the instructors, and ask any questions they may have. (The instructors are also in and out part of the day.) The only thing asked is that the video elite and the fine tune- ups being done on Friday are not interrupted.

The Meet and Greet is on Friday night when all the instructors and mentors will be introduced. Students will have already been told whom their mentor will be and the name of their team. This is a chance for new students to meet their own mentor, their team members, and the instructors. For returning students it is a time to meet and greet old friends as well as to meet their mentor and teammates. There are light refreshments. Any non-student who would like to attend should contact Dom for particulars.

Both events have been very well attended with a lot of positive feed-back, and are a lot of fun.

Looking forward to meeting you Jason. The primer is definitely the first step in a very rewarding journey. I am sure you will find value in it.

I better hurry up and decide if I want to come to Memphis or Atlantic City before they both sell out. 🙂

Does the AC class include hotel. If not, where should I stay. I do not see where it will be held.

The AC class is at the Sheraton Atlantic City, which is located across from The AC Convention Center.

A lot of students stay at a casino, some stay at the Sheraton and many stay at non casino hotels. Some are in AC and there is a large selection out on the White Horse Tpkn which is about 20 minutes from the Sheraton.

Already signed up for the Refresher. My third class.

Can’t wait to see old friends and make some new ones!

GTC Instruction Staff is the best. They are knowledgeable, patient, and great at multi-tasking.

If you are thinking about signing up for a class, DO NOT DELAY! You may be shut out.

AC is a great venue for craps players.

Lots of good tables, great food, nice hotels, few hassles from dealers.

See you all at the Meet and Greet.

You are so right, Color Up, about AC being a terrific venue. The boardwalk is a great place to take a break and stroll, and it makes it easy to access several casinos without having to drive or take a taxi, and there are many good restaurants as well as shops.

Everyone knows AC is hurting, so the dealers are very happy to have players who have been taught to tip! There also are so many GTC players going to AC, that it is very rare to have any hassle about our style of shooting. Even those who are not GTC have some method of setting the dice. The chicken feeders are far out numbered by the dice setters, in AC at least. The ones I love are the ones who take the time to set the dice, and then mix them up in their hand. 😆 That’s just too much for me, and such a waste of time, but the dealers never say anything.

The class is held in the Sheraton Hotel, a very nice venue, but many people stay in one of the casino or non-casino hotels in the area. If you will have a car, there are several of the latter just a couple of miles from the casinos, and not at all expensive. AC has so much to offer, that it fills up quickly, so get your reservation in to Dom asap. Although we do try to help on this site, there is no substitute for a class where we can assess your toss and help you to improve. If you are a new student, only so much can be learned from books, and it is so much easier to teach from the start of an endeavor rather than trying to correct mistakes.

Looking forward to seeing many of our old friends, and make some new ones, in AC in March.
