If you use the all sevens set or some other set on come out rolls should you not include them in smart craps? I see there is a part of the program to exclude sets . Is this for this or is it for some other thing ? I have never tried using it so have no idea how it works .
Thanks for the help.
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

Dice Pilot is, without question, the person to answer this…but I’ll try to help out. I think that particular section is meant to exclude sets altogether……meaning you’re throwing dice – chicken-feeder style. Since I’m on my iPad, I’m not able to verify this for you…..DP?

However, let me preach a little. You should be using your "usual set", preferably a hard way set while using Smart Craps.

It needs thousands of consistent entries before returning any usuable information…..meaning, you need to throw the same set every time you record a throw. If you change it up every time, then it will not be able to analyze the on axis, double pitches, and primary/secondary numbers when you throw.

Think of it as the doctor telling you to take a red pill and blue pill in that order, exactly at 10:00pm every night in order to recover from a bad infection……only you decide to take the red pill one night, skip three nights, take the blue and then another day, both….then skip a week, and then go back to the doctor for a check up…..wondering why you still feel like crap?

Think he will tell you you are cured after not consistently doing the same thing in the same manner, over and over?

Smart Craps needs you to throw the same set, the same way, record the results in the same manner each and every session. Don’t go to a 3V,or an All Sevens, or decide to throw from another position or distance. Same thing each time, means just that….consistency.

Hope this helps! 😀

Take care,

Se Thanks for the reply. I have not used that part of smart craps .So did not know what it really is to be used for .
Got to go to Russia for a week . It is not an easy place to go . Felt strange to be in a different country with no money and not able to speak the language.
But it was good that we were able to go . Meet the 93 yr. old grand mother .
Hope all is well with you and your family .
I will try doing just what you have said to see if it makes a difference .I have come close at times to a pass but just not yet. That was not with what you said but will see .
My felt on table is starting to change color since it does get AZ. SUN A TIMES .But I still enjoy shooting on it .If you ever get to Phx. you should stop by for a little practice .
Good Rolling.

Hi Finisher,

As S8 said, Dice Pilot has forgotten more about SmartCraps than most people know. With that said, I’ll try to help…

SmartCraps is actually a "suite" of software that includes Roll Recorder, ProTest Analyzer and a Sim (Simulation) Wizard.

Roll Recorder is the frequently used portion of the software that allows you to input dice rolls. Roll Recorder then analyzes and computes the results of your roll set, expressing the results in several ways, including Pro Test Pass or Pro Test No Pass.

For the various SmartCraps statistical measurements, such as Pro Tests, to be valid, the dice roll input MUST be from the HARDWAYS set. If you co-mingle results from various dice sets, such as Hardways with 2V or 3V, etc., the SmartCraps analysis will be skewed and invalid.

As far as dice sets go, you can input the results of any set you choose. However, I’ll suggest creating a new "shooter" for the different set so it doesn’t corrupt your Hardways data. You can label the new shooter "3V", "2V" or whatever set you use.

Keep in mind that if using other than the Hardways set, only the actual outcomes thrown and recorded and subsequently, the number of sevens thrown in your roll set sample will be valid measurements.

I hope this helps answer your question, Finisher.

Maybe others will chime in to help further and/or correct any errors in what I’ve written…
