I a few posts over recent months reference has been made to some new thoughts on proper betting that is being presented as part of the new classes. I would agree with Dom and the other instructors just how important this is.
I like others here have been through several classes. I have enjoyed every one of them. I also have gained valuable information every time. I plan to continue with training with the instructors at least once a year for as long as this help is available. Most of that now is in the form of Tune ups and Video Elite. This training is a great learning tool. The instructors do a great job bring everything back to top form.
These sessions don’t get very involved with the betting side of things. Of course that is by design. The betting is a class all by it’s self. I am wondering about that new information now being taught. Could that information be presented to former students. Maybe a web based class open only to former students who have already been through at least a refresher class before the upgraded information became the standard. If that is possible the cost of such a class would be reasonable as no travel for either instructors or students.
I would not begin to say what is a reasonable cost for something like this but I would be interested if Dom and crew came up with something that effectively presented this new information without the full hands on training today’s new students get as part of the standard class. Would anyone else be interested?

I would also be interested in and welcome a separate Craps betting class by GTC. On line is a GREAT idea but I also wouldn’t be adverse to traveling to this separate class in one of the larger markets like Vegas. 🙂

You may have something here. In every advantage move the betting and the size of the bet is very important.
A card counter would never think of playing a game without a spread.
The betting was not covered as extensively as it is covered now, but there is still a lot that does not get covered because of time constraints.
A betting class onto itself that does nothing but pursue betting techniques is a great idea.

We incorporated a two hour course where the first hour was basically doing a tune up and then followed by them betting the way the bet and then showing how to bet differently to make money. They loved it! Nick, Daryl, and myself showed them with chips and betting how they were costing themselves money.
I think a two hour course would be great. The cost would be something because we could only do three of these seminars in a given day with no more than four students, three would be the better amount. Something in the range of $400 would be my thoughts

But for it to work, you must follow it all the time.
Bet only on your self, or if necessary to get to roll the dice. Bet one and only one low vig bet, less than 2% on the shooter before you.
Have available a 401G.
Acquaint yourself with the Kelly Criteria (KC) for determining how much you can bet. As your 401G increases, your bets can increase.
You Dice Control must be such that you have a verified and demonstrated edge against the casino.
Bet no more than the KC indicates based on you edge, 401G amount, and the bet you are making. Your edge will be different for different bets.
If your experience is that your edge can be influenced, ie decreased, by events at the table, then and only then, change your bets.

All your points are great ones and very valid. But lets keep in mind that before the talk of using the Kelly criterion ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelly_criterion ) as a betting utility and platform, the basics must be implanted in the bettor. Just like you did not study advanced accounting methods the first day you were in collage.
Lets not forget that there are people that have been playing so called advantage craps who still think that the C&E or the big red are hedge bets, unfortunately this does not preclude some GTC’ers.

All of the parts of advantage betting have been discussed very well on this board, but many advantage players are still gamblers at heart.
I remember a guy I knew in Tunica who had purchased his table from Dom, had taken all the classes, and still would not make only advantages bets. I’m sure Dom had stressed this with guy, I had told Dom privately about the guy’s betting before the guy took the advanced class, maybe the for the second time.
I do believe that an advantage betting class has the potential to be useful and feel sure GTC would do a good one.

When I took the class during the break I heard first hand the bets that a former student was making . He was vary excited about the fact that he is making lots of money with his rolls .That got my attention .So I listened in on the conservation . To my surprise he was telling the instructor about making money on the 12 and hard ways . Along with other bets . I said nothing about his bets and the instructor said nothing .
Like Dom says you can show them the water but they are the ones who choose to drink or not .
I see lots of players make a 2 or 3 unite bet on the pass line then take single odds .
Now with the new lay outs that have all those HOP bets there is a lot more crazy bets being played by lots of players that have no idea what the odds are . Or even know what they win if and when they do .
I am glad that they have added more betting to classes but think this is a good start . I think that you should have to take some more classes to be able to take a class on just betting. I took the VP class and was vary dis appointed with it just because it was vary basic .
I could see some disappointment if this would happen with this class .
Just some thoughts from an old guy that has been rolling them bones for over 30 yrs.
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

You might have something…..web-based instruction, much like Web-Ex…maybe with video.
Hmmm….wheels are turning.
I’m wondering if this would be something people would be interested in? Anyone else?
