This is a great book if your looking for an over view of American foreign policy. It starts in the late 1930’s just before the start of World War 2 and continues up to 911 and Iraq. The book is an update as the original was written in 1971 by Steven Ambrose (Band of Brothers) and Douglas Brinkley. It’s gone through several editions up to now. Maybe some of you have already read this book years ago. If you have, give it another try for the updated information. It doesn’t get bogged down in the details but gives the facts about what we did right and what we did wrong in our foreign policy. It runs just over 500 pages but it’s a fairly quick read. Give it a try. It’s a paperback and you can get it at B&N or online.
