Last weekend we took a mini vacation and saw BB King in AC with free tickets we were given. On Sunday, we spent the day in beautiful Victorian Cape May. On Monday we headed to AC, and had some ups and downs in our tosses. Jack and his wife, Betty, joined us until Thursday, although she is not a gambler, and spent most of her time reading at the pool.

On Monday the tables were crowded, and there was only room for Sandtrap at SL. He had very profitable rolls: He shot only once in the morning, a nice 23. In the afternoon, 15, 10, 15, and 11 (the last two all 6’s and 8’s). Tuesday, Jacl struggled, but had one 23 roll in the morning and one 22 roll in the afternoon. Sandtrap and I had several low teen rolls, and I played a lot of Pai Gow.

Tuesday was also a day for bingo in the afternoon. However, there was a storm that day, and many parts of the casino were without electricity and air conditioning. One affected area was the huge bingo room. No one was aware of this, and people started lining up at 12 noon. The doors would normally open at 1pm for a 2pm game. As the line got longer and longer, and the time was passing, staff finally started walking down the line to tell people the problem. By 2pm, the line had snaked all the way down the corridor, through the casino, and to the far back wall of the casino area. Around 3pm, the doors opened, but it was too late to run the bingo games. Everone was offered $10 free play or a free buffet, and invited to return for the 7pm bingo games.

Wednesday was my day to shine. My rolls in the morning were 11, 10, 10, and then the 60! It was probably two or three more, because at one point I was throwing craps on the come-out, and was concentrating on adjusting my grip. I then realized I had forgotten to move my chips, but I didn’t really care. According to Jack, I had thrown at least twelve 6’s and 8’s. The dealer at his end was encouraging him to press his bets more than he is used to. He had $220 on the 6, and was ready to go to $300 on the next hit. In the afternoon, Sandtrap had several low double digit rolls. I also did, but also had a nice 33 roll. What a wonderful day!

Thrusday a man played on the only open table in our spots from 7:30am until 7:30pm, so we had to wait for the 1pm table to open. We later found out he was only betting the doey/don’t for $10. I wound up playing BJ with 3 men from VA who had never played before, and one from NJ who was telling the others what to do. They were all drunk as skunks, but very friendly. The one next to me proceeded to spill his beer on me almost right away, and kept apologizing the rest of the morning. The best part came when they all tried to guess my age. I was extremely happy when they agreed I was 53! My friends for life. (For those new to GTC, I turned 71 in January. Since I have twice survived cancer, I am very happy with my age.)

Friday, Sandtrap and I each had only one good roll, 20 and 35 respectively. We were grateful for those, had breakfast, and headed home early.
