National Roller Coaster Day: Friday, Aug. 16, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., it’s officially National Roller Coaster Day, a date that Las Vegas is well-equipped to celebrate (although less well-equipped than it used to be, with the High Roller somewhere on the ground in a backyard and Speed yet to experience its rumored reincarnation). We couldn’t get hold of anyone at New York-New York to find out if they’re doing any kind of promo, but we can confirm that Buffalo Bill’s in Primm will be offering free rides on its Desperado monster coaster from 12:15 to 7:45 p.m.
