So I am going to the Bahama’s in a few weeks staying on Paradise Island with the whole family. So I thought I would take a few hours at my Connecticut casino for a practice run. So I left after work and got up there around 8:30. Couldn’t believe how crowded they were. The best I could get was the right hook position at a table. So I moved in and was keeping my eyes open for someone at my table or another in position to move out.

Finally after about 40 minutes, at another table, SR1 becomes available. So i take up that position and start 5 counting. Luckily for me, everyone sucked so I never wagered $1 until the guy before me was throwing. I bet $60 on the 6 & 8. His point was the 9. He made one 6 and then the 7. Net loss of $50. I get the dice and establish the point of 6. I 5 count myself and came right back with the 6. Next point is the 10. Throw two numbers and then make the 10. Next point is the 5. I place the 6 & 8 for $90 each and come bet $15. 5X odds table which allows you to push the house going up to $125 in odds which I do. I throw the 6. $90 pays $105. Give the dealer $20 for my $125 in odds and I keep the place bet up. I then continued to throw 10 more numbers with 6 of them being the 6. I get paid $165 on the come bet and I keep pushing the place bet. So although it wasn’t a great round, it was a very profitable round. Funny thing is I hit the hard 6 3 times and never had anything on it.

I go grab a quick bite to eat and then had back to the tables. Can’t get SR but I do find SL1 open. I have been trying to throw from there more often, even though I prefer SR. Dice are two to my left and it is a full table. I know it’s going to be awhile. I try not to play on anyone else, but I am getting a little bored and I don’t have that much time tonight. So I 5 count and then come bet. Not doing bad or good. Then the guy straight out on the opposite side gets the dice. Sets them with 66 showing. Circles the felt 3 times, taps twice, shakes them up in his hand, rubs his closed hand on his shirt, shakes them up again, blows on them and flings them down the other side like he is Doc Gooden. Probably could have clocked him at 98 MPH. Chips go flying, dice go flying. What a moron, however, this moron threw the dice for over an hour. This was my favorite moron ever. He hit soft ways, hard ways, points, 5’s, 9’s. Once he finally seven-ed out, I had turned by $1,000 buy in to over $8,500. And I was playing conservatively. At that point, I knew I wasn’t going to throw any better, and with family vacation coming up in a couple of weeks, I was happy with my win. So I went home. So I only got to throw the dice once and made a nice profit for a short trip. Looking forward to 8 days in the largest casino in the Caribbean with my favorite people.

I too have been at a table with a crazy rhythmic roller. This girl did would get the dice, turn and rotate the dice, grip one die, circle that one die around the other die, place them together, pick them up in her hand, jiggle them inside her hand, and then wing them down the table. This ordeal took an estimated 30-45 seconds. Me and the boxman would look at each other and roll our eyes, but never said a word and allowed her to do her thing. Figuring that she would 7-out before the 5 count, I went to the restroom. Came back 5 mins later and she is still rolling. I decide to 5 count her again. She kept rolling. I finally started betting on her and won some money, but you never know what can happen with these crazy rhythmic rollers. It led me to write a post " Rhythmic rollers, can they be trusted?" In a nut shell, as crazy as these people are, if a person gets into a rhythm and passes the 5C, start to invest in them. For more insight and thoughts on rhythmic rollers, read the "Craps Underground" and the Captains thoughts on them.

Place is absolutely beautiful. It’s great because there is things to do for all ages. My kids love it and they are 1, 4, 6 and my cousins love it and they are 12,15,18. And I of course love it for the casino. Get the whole week comped. So my only cost is the airfare and gambling. The pools are amazing. And I think the new resort/casino on Nassau that is being built is only going to make this hotel better. I will definitely follow up with a trip report when I get back. But definitely recommend going.

Mike nice trip report and a great win. Keep it up and have a great trip to Paradise Island.

Point of interest, I was talking to a friend of mine who just came back from PI and he told me the tables at the big casino are 14 ft and they have padded them since his last trip. He also said the tables at the other casino are better to play on.

Hope this helps you on your trip

Let me know when you are leaving, send me an email.

They must have changed them recently. I was there in December and they had 12 footers that were pretty decent to play on. Fotunately, this is a family vacation and not a gambling trip. Although I am looking forward to playing at night. Days are at the pools and water slides and then big dinners at night. Then once the kids are in bed, I’ll go play for awhile. Problem is I’m so tired, I can’t play my best so I tend not to push it. Hopefully we can take a trip to ct sometime soon. Hope all is well.
