Craps

Last time in Vegas

Spread the love

The craps tournament that I was going to was canceled but the host comped me for the days anyway. So we went anyway.

My oldest Grandson was going to the Electric Daisy Carnival and was staying at the Aria, just turned 21, and had three friends with him.

Thought we would go as a backup if he had any problems. Turned out he didn’t need us I’m glad. He was up at BJ at first but lost it all back
before coming home after EDC was over. We didn’t see him at all but saw a lot of the people who were dressed, if you would call it that for EDC.

Usually when I am at Vegas I am attending continuing education courses for my CPA, but this time was on my own.

Long story, in short, this was a losing trip.

Threw over 900 rolls spread over 100+ rolls. Had 28 rolls of 10-19, 7 rolls of 20–29 and one of 31, my longest roll. My largest win was over $250 and I had
4 other rolls with wins of $100 plus.

Qualified all chicken feeders before betting on them but still lost money on chicken feeders. The five count doesn’t mean you will make money on CFers but that you will lose less. The tables I played on were generally more crowded than what I had found in the past.

Was up the first two days, but gave it back over the last three days. First day won on 3 of the 4 times I played. Next day also won 3 of the 4 times I played. Next day won on only 1 of the six times I played.
Third day I only won on 1 of the seven times I played. Fourth day only played three different times with no wins. Next day won one time of the six times I played. Only played one time on the departure day and lost.

Drove out to Henderson one day to the Clark County Museum complex. Nice place to visit, learned a lot about the Vegas area. Had never focused on how huge Clark was. The Orleans has a movie theater as part of it and when I couldn’t get my position one afternoon, went to a movie with the Mrs.

On the way back stopped at the Eastside Casino. Got $5 free slot pay that only resulted in cashing out for $3.50 from video poker. Also got 4 even money $10 match play coupons. Used them on four different comeout rolls and didn’t win on either of them. Incidentially, this casino olny had one craps table open but it was 10x odds.

My betting the first two days and part of the third was pass line with double odds and then continuous come bets with double odds. If my initial point was an outside number I than 6/8 placed the six/eight. First come bet going to 6/8 was down with double odds. Set for the seven on all bets where I didn’t have any come bets, but only had 39 comeout naturals and 32 come out craps. As you know random is a 2-1 comeout winner ratio, which I didn’t have. When I was off/on a come bet, I increased the odds one until until max odds. If I was at max odds, I then placed/bought the number to go with the max odds come bet. On a few rolls I had a come out seven and then started my betting all over again.

Middle of the third day forward, I stopped the come bet and placed the 6/8 if they weren’t the point and took double pass line odd. Didn’t press until I had recovered what I had on the table.

My rolls weren’t what I would like. My hardway set rolls had a SRR of 5.98 for the seven hundred rolls. Six is my usual dominate number from the hardway, but this time I was 18 rolls short of random on the 6 and 12 rolls over random on the nine.

Expect I will return to at least my norm next time, and I will do better overall. One thing I will continue to work on is only playing when the tables are not crowded.
