So it’s been awhile since I tore my rotator cuff, and I have been on the bench for a bit. Which kills me because I like to go and play twice a month when business and time allows.
So I received an offer for a really nice watch give away at the newest and most beautiful casino in Atlantic City. So there is no trouble convincing the Mrs. to go. She does not like to gamble, but she sure can shop. We drive down last Sunday mid day. We grab a quick bite to eat and she heads off to spend money. I head off to make money. I find a nice empty 12 footer, and I heed the advice of BTK and NFF and decide to go to stick left. I am a right handed person who typically throws from stick right. But I am nervous since my injury actually occurred at the craps table and I haven’t really practiced too much. Obviously the dice come straight to me. I strike up a little conversation between the dealers, the box man and myself, and they all seem pretty friendly.
Right off the bat, I am 5 counting myself. After that, I am placing the 6 and 8 $90 each and a $25 come bet with always full odds. I spend the next hour at the table by myself with nothing less then 11 and nothing more then 19. Whatever numbers I have, I have $1 on the place for the dealers paying off at 2 to 1 and $5 on the line as a place bet. So the dealers are dropping chips on almost every roll. And the best part is, whenever someone else walks up to the table, and i seven out and then they put a pass line bet down, the dealers don’t give them the dice. It comes right back to me.
Then they ask me if I want the table stakes raised, and since I am betting $25 pass and comes, I said "ABSOLUTELY". That left me alone at the table for another hour. Then, this guy comes up to the table and takes out a $10,000 marker. Gets annoyed at the pit boss when the money takes a few minutes. When he finally gets his cheques, he puts a pass line bet of $15 down. The box explained that this was a $25 table and the guy threw a hissy fit like he was a 13 year old girl! (no offense to any 13 year old girls who may be reading this) He establishes a point of 10, does not back up his pass line bet, does not bet any other number, and continues to just heave the dice down the table. There was no way I was betting my money on this clown. Sadly, he threw roughly 25 numbers before throwing the seven, took his $9,975 and stormed off! Is that money laundering going on??? The stick turns to me and says "Can we please get back to business now"?
At this point, I have been at this very same table for about 3 hours. Debbie is expected back any minute and we are going to need to leave to go get my watch. So I establish a point, and continue to throw 29 numbers including 5 points. Whenever I have a point that is even, I always bet on the hard way, and I hit a couple of those as well.
So when all was said and done, I spent well over 3 hours at the same table. Never had a monster, but never really lost on any given roll. My high being my last one at a 29 and my low being a 7. Walked away with $3,500 in profit and dropped a decent amount for the boys. I got in probably close to 30 throwing sessions for the day which is outstanding for 3 hours. As I was leaving, the pit boss came over to me and shook my hand and said the dealers wanted to thank me by buying me dinner, and handed me a $200 comp for any restaurant in the hotel. Made me feel really good. Got my watch, had a kick ass dinner and drove home. Got home around 4:00 am which was tough because I had to work Memorial Monday, but I was in a great mood because of my win, and great time with Debbie and NO kids. Also, I got some confidence back after my shoulder injury.
So sorry for the looooooong message but I like sharing my abilities that GTC taught me. Thanks BTK and NFF and as always Dom!!!
