Gambling in Montreal

First of all Montreal is an amazing city to visit. The architecture and the restaurants are reason enough to visit. The casino has a lot of construction going on but not really any problem. The best part for me was that it was that the casino was no smoking and that really makes a difference. Only ten dollar tables every day without exception. Currently only two tables due I think to shrinking the casino for construction purposes. I prefer $5 tables but not an option.

The tables were solid and the fact that I broke even was my fault and not due to the table conditions. I could blame it on my wife distracting me with her gambling style but it was really due to the vacation gambler came out and I did not follow my GTC rules like I normally do. The dealers were very friendly but they were somewhat arbitrary as far as how they called off shots that didn’t hit the back wall – every seven that didn’t hit the back wall was a good shot. Typically if at least one die hit they were good with it but it varied depending on the dealers. I was the only one tipping and dealers were very thankful.

Overall a good experience and would highly recommend a visit there. Food and drinks were expensive in most restaurants overall and we did eat at some very nice places that were super expensive but still worth it. Kind of like going to France without the additional 14 hour flight.
