Craps

Short Report-more to follow

Just got back from Sunday-Friday trip to Vegas.

Sally lost money at Vegas but I won more than she lost.
Details of my part later.

Tried to get together with Rubin74 but couldn’t make it
Happen. Did imagine to play with Mark3 again it was
Enjoyable.

We played at the redone Quad.

Second day we started out great, both had double
digit rolls. Went downhill from there. I wound up
with a small win but Mark was down slightly.

I think we both were pleased that the Quad had stools
that were available. I know that some casinos will
let you bring chairs from the nearby table to the craps table.
However, I have had at least one strip casino refuse
to let me do that.

At the off strip casino I stayed at, at least one time
the pit woman had noticed that I had brought a chair
to the table and got one for me without my
Having to do.

When I played at Tunica I never had a problem with that.

In my discussions with the crew I asked about the largest
tip they had won from the Fire bet/Replay bet.
I was surprised to learn that some casinos don’t pay the
full amount to the dealer on those bets. I was told that at least at
one Ceasers Property that the that the forever payout to the
dealers was stopped at $2,000 and at least one Boyd property
the Repeat Bet win was topped at $1,000.

While I don’t play those bet, if I get an initial come out
natural which prompts a dealer bet by me, I will
often ask the dealer if they would like it as a pass line or
Fire/Repeat bet. Most of the time they want the line bet.

More will follow later after I look at my overall roll results.

Maybe no one is interested, since the post hasn’t been looked at, but here is the More.

When I go to the casino by myself, I attempt to find one thing. A decent table, that is empty or has less than two other people on it. I will finish a roll, be it short or long, and if I see an empty table and move to it. Therefore I tend to get a lot of throws in. I threw 109 times and chicken feeders threw 193 times. Was at the table when Mark3 threw 4 times.

There are times that I set for a seven and on all other throws I use the hardways. On this trip to Vegas, I set for the seven on 184 rolls, I rolled 38 sevens and 17 elevens and only rolled 18 craps. The expected would have been 31 naturals and 20 craps so I was very pleased with that part of my game.

After getting a point established, I was betting continuious come bets. All of my play was at $5 tables, with 3-4-5 odds. I started with double odds and increased the odds one time, each time I collected on a come bet. If my point was not a 6/8 I placed them for $12. I didn’t increase my come bet if I was at max odds, but rather placed/bought the number I had hit at max odds. Harrahs and Palms has automatic buys on the 4/10 at $20, the other casinos have the auto buy at $10.

I do not bet the Fire/Replay bet, but would have collected once on three hits on each of the 6/8 at different rolls. I know on my 46 roll there was no one on the Replay bet when I hit 3 6s. I hit the 3 8s with a 17 roll and also no one was on the Replay. Both times, I was the only player at the table when the roll started.

I had 16 point seven and also had 12 rolls of 3 rolls. My average roll for the trip was 8.23 and my SRR was 6.64. Thirty one percent of my rolls were better than 10 and only one roll was more than 40.

Comments, thoughts, questions?

I was pleased with the trip, even though Sally lost money, I more than covered her losses.

Hi Noah. As I and others have said, it just goes to show that money can be made on your own short rolls. They don’t have to be monster rolls.

By the way, I did read your first report. Did you go to "view your posts" at the top of the page to see how many had read yours? I find there are often many more viewers than posters.

Noah,

When I checked this post had 44 views. Do as the Goddess suggested to get the whole picture, don’t judge by the number of posts.

I find it interesting that your average number of rolls was right around that for a random roller and your SRR was not unusually high albeit better than random. Your 7/11 vs craps numbers with the seven set far exceeded that of random. It would be interesting to see how you did throwing box numbers and sevens with the hardway set vs. random.

Never the less you made a profit and I think this stresses proper betting and following GTC principles, especially with other shooters where one can lose a lot of money without even realizing it.

Good job ACPA.

Thanks for sharing.

There are places that do not allow you to bet any of the feature bets for the crew.

Glad you made money

One Moon Circle.

I consider you a legal expert on craps in Colorado.

Do the casino there have the Fire bet or Replay bet, and if so would it be legal for the casino to pay less on those bets when made for the dealer?

I am still upset that the dealer don’t get paid right on those bets at some casinos in Vegas.

Noah, great post as always. Many more people read posts than reply to them. Many times I am not near my computer but read the posts on my phone, I hate to use the phone as a computer even though I do but only as a necessity.

Short rolls can be profitable, I visited my favorite casino on Saturday because it was a lousy rainy day in Conn. Just wanted to get out of the house, figured I would have lunch on them and play a few hours of video poker(even though it is a lousy game in Conn) I had no intention of playing craps but I walked by the table and it was empty.

I bought in for $100.00 dollars and the dice and had an 11 hand throwing 7, 5, 5, 5(working on comeout) 5, 6, 8, 8,9, 9,7 out. Nice money hand I colored up after 7 out and said have a nice day to the dealers. Never made the 2nd point but who cares.

Hit and run, nice way to play if you can.

Instead of an official dealers bet on the feature, what about having them ride the feature bet with you, then flip them the full payout? Casino can’t stop you from that, can they?
Just tell them they ride with you…

I see that you said that you set for 7s on 184 rolls .Is that what you do most of the time ? Also you threw 109 times is that part of the 184 or is this another session ?
That seems a lot of rolls to set for 7s . Every once in awhile I set for 7s on come out but not that many .
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

Griz,

I have no problem with the dealers on top of you, but I wonder what they would do with the W-2g if you had $2 Fire bet and told them to drop $1,000 for the dealer on a six number win?

I’ve senen people make The max $5 bet, which probably makes piggy backing impossible.

Sorry we did not get together. I got into a poker tourney and made it to the final table. We will get together next time. I will be in Vegas on the 29th June.

ACPA You said that you set 7s for 184 rolls is that your set when you roll ? It seems that there are some that use that set on come out rolls then go to 2-v 3-v or hard way set .
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

Posted by: ACPA on June 4, 2013, 5:05 pm

Yes I set for seven if I don’t have any active come bets.

Use hardway otherwise.

You said that you set 7s for 184 rolls so how many came up 7 ? That seems to be a lot of rolls to set the 7s for or am I missing some thing. When you set for 7s are you on the DP side?
Just for fun I went out and set the 7s set and had a roll of 15 .I vary seldom set it tho.
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

No I wasn’t playing the dark side, they all were come out rolls. If I was shooting from the dark side, I would be trying to roll a 2 or 3 craps which would be a DS winner. whereas the 7 or 11 would be an immediate loser.

I play the separate game where I try to have winners before a point is established. If my roll from a seven set winds up on a point, then I go to the hard way set to try to repeat that point that was set.
