I hope the video can find my problem so I can hammer it home during the refresher!

The video analysis was all it has been cranked up to be! NFF and BTK worked hard to find the reason for my outside die wobble. A change of finger position, thumb placement, angle of middle finger from the knuckle down to the tip, how the dice are picked up, backswing and follow thru. NO LUCK. The cameras were showing the wobble but not the cause! NFF started using a camera as a steady cam and to the side the problem was uncovered. I somehow since June I developed a habit of on my throw that near the end of the arc, I would drop my thumb allowing the dice to do all kinds of strange things some of the times. After a few false starts the toss improved and faltered. A long hot shower to try and get the muscles in my forearm to stop protesting the earlier arm exercises, then a before sleep exercise was implemented with the hope that overnight the sleep muscle memory symptom would put the old muscle memory to the rear of the line of muscle memory activities!
The next morning NFF had me start with him at Station One to see if the late night exercise had worked (Yes Timmer I did do the exercise)! YES! Now to get it to be repeatable! Practice, practice, practice! Slight adjustments from the various instructors to help in keeping the dice level and straight, to hit the target, to adjust for changing table conditions and more that my brain are still trying to assimilate ( but are in my notes to refer to later!)
In general up to lunch, everyone seemed subdued, listening and working on improving their shot! After lunch, to me, everyone seemed to loosen up and the background chatter picked up while everyone worked until their arms were sore. I know mine was and Joe said I’m done for the day! BUT with Nick at Night his shot was right on!!
Now for rest and see what Sunday brings!

Everyone seemed tired after day one. But this group of primers seemed to be getting it at then end of the day. When we did the betting segment with the primers they all shoot lights out! We are doing the same thing with the refreshers first thing today

Those things fixed I moved on to the video with NFF and BK. This proved to be a little humbling as I thought short of the minor grip problem everythin else was pretty good. Of course the cameras showed something different. The camera showed a posture problem that in turn caused the backswing to be inside the delivery outside to compesate for it. I other words the whole thing was wrong from sart to finish. These two great coachs found and fixed all the above mentioned problems while Timmer documented the whole thing in a couple pages of notes.
Dom hovered around the entire morning like an old mother hen just to be sure all was progressing as it should. This is my fourth session with these guys over five years. The last was over a year ago. IT was as if that last session was a week ago. That is part of the value working with really dedicated people. They all have our best interest at hart. Thanks to all for the great work and much needed help.

Just got home awhile ago after a uneventful drive other than being pulled over for not having my headlights on. (I should have been on automatic. DUH)
BUT to make sure I went down stairs almost direct from driving, no warm up and
6/3 wild throw
5/4 readjust as my table is a bit bouncy like station 4 with PitBoss
3/1
5/2
5/3
4/2
Minimal bounce with rest
With NO WOBBLE. YES!
Thanks

Good deal Stealthman! Sorry to hear about the fuzz. Sounds like you went immediately to practicing. I like to do the same, helps reinforce what was learned…..and what the changes look like at home.
Chip, great name! Welcome back! π
Kindest regards,

Great name Chip,
It was too bad we did not have a connection this time, a lot of people asked about that. We will have it for sure in LV, with pictures too.

I will do the Elite video again in Vegas in October. In fact you can count on me to take it AT LEASTyearly for as long as I am able to throw dice
The Elite Video team is the casinos 2nd worst nightmare. Of course GTC is the WORST nightmare as everyone knows
THANKS for your skills and willingness to put the Elite video on

The 2nd half year of 2012 had a definite downward slide in production of $$$ at the craps table due to problems had crept into my throw without my knowing it. Following the video since I was staying for a couple of days after to play(big mistake) I tried to correct my Elite Video disclosed problems. Expensive to correct at the table with real chips. But I knew it was progress. Got home Monday afternoon and went to my local casino in St Louis to cash some promo coupons and the table crew waved me over to my shooting spot and since the table was empty I gave it a try. I proceeded to crank out 36, 31, 6(only lost $65 on that throw) and 42. Had not been able to put together anything over 20 tosses in over 8 months. I made more than 2.5 times what I had lost at Tunica.

"Kingfisher" wrote: Just returned from Tunica. Really a first class job. Started with meetup . Really set the tone for the next two days – thanks Doc Crapology and Alligator Rose. Mentors for Claudia (Queenfisher) and myself were really a hugh asset. Thanks Matt and Fred. All the instructors really wanted us to get better – your patience was a virtue for sure. Dom was so honest and sincere. The betting procedure was a needed neccessity. Now for the rest of the story…….. The two of us and Tatoo Tink went to Tunica. All Kendall Tinker did was roll a 23 first roll after class. Claudia rolls a 23 also. Next day Tatoo hits another 23. I am rolling OK but not making much money. Over lunch I think I have the betting figured out. Not quite yet. I even rolled a 29 but still not much cash made. By Monday early evening I am down to my stop loss limit and sit out, totally lost and wondering what to do. Claudia gives me the old pep talk and I remembered the story about Nick at Night and one of the trips to Vegas with the other Horsemen. Went out again after dinner and did so so but kept remembering the story with Nick. Same thing on departure morning, was getting numbers but no repeats. We leave.. Get off the plane in Pittsburgh and decide to head to a local spot with 12 foot tables and great landings.. Kept remembering the Nick story.. Got the dice and rolled a 43. Unreal. Made some money but mostly realized this game can have some happy endings. Thanks Dom, NIck, Mr Finesse, Pit Boss, Billy the Kid, No Field Five, Bill Burton (the timekeeper, I believe), Timmer, and all others involved. Thanks GTC!!!!!!
WOW! A 43!
Let me make some comments to you. First again I thank you from all of us. Every instructor wants you to be the best you can be!
As far as your early shooting goes, remember you just spent two full days throwing and thinking about what you are doing. It kind of makes sense that your shooting might have been a little off. But after the plane ride you did what you are capable of doing …. shooting a 43!
Remember that slow and steady wins the race.

I would like to add one comment. All the golfers out there will appreciate this. If you have ever had a golf lesson the first couple of times you play after the game your game may be in the toilet. You are trying to incorporate what you leaned from the golf instructors into your game as you unlearn what you were doing before. It takes a while to unlearn what you had been doing prior to the golf lesson while at the same time bringing the instruction into your game. It is the same with dice control.
I hope all the students get to read this, as it may take a few days—hopefully at your practice rig–to get it going. Practice–perfect practice–is the name of the game.
Hope to see everyone in the casinos soon.
Doc and Alligator Rose.

I’m sure you’re going to have plenty of great rolls like the one in PA. You worked hard all weekend and certainly earned it.
Enjoy your success!
