Video Elite in AC

Spread the love

Hello all, I wanted to let everyone know about my experience with the Vide Elite class in AC. Dom encouraged me to take the Video Elite as I was also taking my second Refresher Class, and boy am I glad I listened to Dom.

I arrived Friday just a little ahead of my 9:00am start time. Billy the Kid, No Field Five and Ace-10 were all ready for me. I started throwing a little on a table to warm up. After about 10 minutes or so, I went over to the table with the cameras and lights. Ace-10 and NFF were over there working the cameras. I threw 6 times. After NFF finished the technical stuff, I was able to see myself from the front and back of my throw. We watched at normal speed and then in super slow motion. NFF was able to draw lines on the screen showing me how my throw was off, and what it was doing to the dice in the air. It was fantastic. Then I spent about 25-30 minutes or so with one-on-one coaching with Billy the Kid. He took the information NFF found out about my shot and coached me to be better. After the coaching with BTK, I went back to the table with the cameras and threw another 6 times, but this time Dom also joined the team. I watched the videos again in full and slow motion. We could see some improvement in the items discussed from the first round, but some new items crept into the swing and throw. Next I had another 1/2 hour session with BTK, and back for the final shooting with the video. This time we could see nice improvement in all of areas of the the areas we worked on during the session. After the session was done, NFF gave me a memory stick with the video sessions so I could watch at home.

This is probably the best one-on-one coaching I’ve had to help me with my throw. This is not to take anything away from the rest of the GTC teaching team as I would not have been ready for the Video Elite class without first taking the Primer and the first Refresher classes.

After the Video class was over, I headed over to one of my favorite casinos on the Boardwalk. I like the tables there but I had never really shot well at this place. I shot 5 or 6 times and averaged in the low 20’s, and made some money. The changes were instant and I could absolutely tell what I was doing differently because of the Video Elite training that morning.

I cannot recommend the Video Elite class enough. It is not for a beginner. You need to have a good grip and basic throw down well before you take this class. To me, Dom, NFF and BTK worked magic with me. Their instructions were direct, easy to understand and the feedback on success or failure was immediate. It was VERY clear to me that these guys, together with all of the GTC team, truly love teaching students to play Craps better. I am a very happy and satisfied student and can’t wait for the next time I can take the Video Elite class.

Keep shooting,
Chevy

You are correct. The Elite Video is an amazing training tool. NFF, BTK and ACE-10 do a fantastic job. Keep the board posted as you use what you learned (and will continue learning) as you go forward. We all thank you for the kind words.

Hope to see you soon in the Casinos.

Doc, thanks for your comments.

We just came home from a weekend in AC. We stayed at a place that has really great 12′ tables. My first hand was a 37! I had to work hard at not getting too excited. I was also betting as we all learned in AC during the class and was up a bunch after this hand. The next was a 13 and I did not break 10 on the next 2 tries. I was able to keep some of my profit but not all. I think I was not shooting totally square to the back wall, and I may have gotten too over confident after that 37. So, we walked over to another casino with 12′ and 14′ tables. The first 14′ table was really bouncy so I did not shoot. SL1 opened up at a different 14′ table and I was able to shoot a 38, also using the "Big Skinny" betting model. I remembered the post from Mr. Fineness about not changing the speed of your swing, but increase the backswing a little to throw further. I had not practiced on 14′ tables for a long time and increasing my backswing a little caused the dice to land exactly where I wanted on the 14′ tables. The next 3 times I shot I averaged 20 or just a little over. We walked back to our original place and I shot once and did not do well, I don’t remember the number. I was really tired and should not have played at all. This morning I went down to the casino where we were staying. They had one $25 table open and SL1 was taken. I am not comfortable with playing at a $25 table so we left and went back to the place we played yesterday. I shot a 24,21, 20, and a 26. I was able to walk away this weekend with 60% over my initial bankroll for this trip. I was able to cover my wife’s losses at the slots and still have a profit on the trip.

The Video Elite class, plus the Refresher in AC has already done wondrous things for my throw and play. We have a day trip scheduled next Saturday. I will make a report when we get home.

Thanks to all of the GTC instructors and mentors!

Great shooting. even when you did things wrong, you recognized it. Can’t get much better than that.

Many more good shoots are ahead for you.
