Spread the love

Read this my friends. Can you handle this hot pepper?

(You will recall that these two guys almost killed Dominator with hot sauce. You can read about that in Casino Craps: Shoot to Win!)

This is a new record in the world of hottest chili pepper. They use Scoville heat units to measure the heat of peppers for comparison purposes.

The new record holder, Trinidad Moruga Scorpion has measured as high as 2.0 million SHU. Its seeds averaged 1.2 million SHU.

The Trinidad Scorpion Butch T (prior hottest) measured in at 1.5 million SHU for its highest measurement.
The Bhut Jolokia or Ghost Pepper as it was also named (next previous winner) came in at 1.0 million SHU at its highest.

Stickman and I have already sampled all the previous record holders and enjoyed them thoroughly. I doubt this new pepper will be any serious challenge to us.

We have already tried hot sauces that measured over 4 million SHU without any real difficulty. To get a sauce that hot, the manufacturer has to use chili extract which is just the pure heat of the hottest chili. The extract does not have any actual flavor so we do not enjoy the sauces made from pure extract as much as those that don’t use extract.

Although I bought a bottle of pure extract and I am making my own sauce using the extract to provide the heat. But I put other ingredients and chili sauce into my concoction to give it flavor. One of my ingredients is Tabasco red pepper sauce to dilute the extract and provide a different flavor. The Tabasco sauce is a very mild flavor coming in around 3,500 SHU.

The name of the extract I am currently using is called "Satan’s Blood". The description of the product states, "This sauce was conceived on Friday the 13th, October, 2000 during a full moon. It is 800000 scoville units of heat!" I use it daily at breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner depending on what I am eating. Hot peppers are actually good for you. They have nutritive value and helpful in killing off bacteria.

Here is a picture of the bottle 😆 😆 😆

Of course, the hot sauce adds flavor to the food. The heat does not destroy the flavor.

I found this explanation on the internet.

"All hot peppers contain capsaicinoids, natural substances that produce a burning sensation in the mouth, causing the eyes to water and the nose to run, and even induce perspiration. Capsaicinoids have no flavor or odor, but act directly on the pain receptors in the mouth and throat…"

There is a place in NY cities Chinatown called Sun Luk Kee, we used to go there for a dish called spicy mussels in a pot. The patron would get this grimy looking pot filled with mussels with chinese hot peppers. My mouth would burn like hell, I would feel the perspiration on my head. By the time the meal was over you would sweat like u ran a marathon.

I once smelled one of the horrifying concoctions Skinny and Stickman pour on their food and I started to cry and my nose burned as if someone shot a flame thrower up my nostrils. They are nuts!

They are particularly crazy when they eat this way at breakfast. I cannot imagine starting off my day with eyes tearing, mouth burning, perspiration running down my face, and then going to the craps table. Somehow, they not only enjoy this stuff early in the morning, they actually succeed at the craps table in spite of it. 😮

Where can I get that Satan’s Blood? I too love hot sauces. I’m always looking for something hotter.

Flat Foot

I bought it in a local store but I believe you can get it on Amazon.com.

Remember this is not a hot sauce. It is a chili extract. It does not have any flavor, only heat. You have to mix it with other things to give it flavor and you probably need to dilute it because it is very hot just by itself.

Be careful when handling this extract. If you get any of it at all on your finger and then rub your eye with that finger you will be very very sorry. I know that from experience.
