This may have been posted, but I couldn’t find a thread. I was wondering if any other GTC students had the same experience as I
did, where the stick man and box man said that your hand must not pass over the line. Now I’m playing from stick left one position and the line he had said was where C and E bets are placed. Now that is a bit far left of the center of the table. It is just about where the left edge of the stick man’s standing area begins.
I have heard people say don’t let your hand go past the center of the table, but it’s almost impossible not to pass through the C & E area if you are shooting from the stick left one at the table.
I moved to the left as much as I could but the flack from the stick person did throw me off and I sevened out rather soon after, due mostly to the fact that I was a little rattled from the pressure.
If this has happened to you, please share what you did. Did you continue to play at that casino at different times, different tables or was it a regular incident? I tend to think it can be dealt with by simply apologizing and changing playing times, changing tables and eventually they leave you alone.
Any feedback on this would be helpful.

the bets in the center of the table. Try to move away so you are throwing
from the SL 1-1/2.

This is not heat. You simply ran into one of the casinos or dealers who want to enforce the rule.
At one casino in AC a woman dealer was hit in the chest when she was on stick by a shooter’s hand reaching out to throw. She filed a complaint with management and that casino enforced the rule very strictly for awhile. They even put signs on all their craps tables saying your hand was not supposed to cross the center line. That was several years ago and now the rule is not being enforced as strictly any longer. Many things change in time. I hope you will not let this bother you in the future now that you know the reasoning behind the "rule".

In Missouri and in Vegas have been asked to step back. Took me back, Missouri I moved back and kept tipping and all was fine. Vegas even stepping back was warned again, so I colored up and came back later when the pit boss was different.
I guess I might tend to have that happen as I am tall and long arms.
Just keep your composure and do as requested. And give them a big SMILE!
Remember you can always come back another time.

Skinny is correct about the reason for the center line rule being enforced in some casinos. The problem occurred at a casino that we frequented. But even there, the rule is not always strictly enforced. In fact, when it first went into effect, some of the dealers and box personnel laughed about it.
Today, Sandtrap was told he was crossing the line by a pit supervisor (there are almost no box people in AC now), who is rarely there, and has never dealt craps. He completely misssed the observation that the table was empty except for the 5 of us, and the two previously empty toke boxes were now full and had to be emptied. The stick said, "I hope you don’t think that came from me." Sandtrap replied, "No, I don’t. But even if it did, I do know the rule, so I will step back." He stepped back a 1/2 foot, and that was the end of the problem.
BTW, he had a 10, 21, and 38 rolls (in addition to some small ones).

I have started to pull my arm back quicker now, and I am not leaving my hand outstretched after the dice are released. I think I may have held my hand out a little longer than necessary after I finish the throw.
When I tip the dealers, I usually get no flack from the stick person or the box person. I was just really surprised to be told by that one dealer that my hand could not pass over the C & E line. I’d have to stand at stick left two just because my arms are too long not to go over from stick left 1.
I did manage to have some nice long rolls today.
