compliment for gtc

Spread the love

we are heading to Vegas for 8 days in a couple of weeks so i thought i would take a day
trip to GB. They have a couple of 12 foot tables there and i wanted some practice.

There was a couple of guys there i knew and my spot was open so i slide in. It took about
45 minutes or better to get the dice. I will not say the "the table was hot". i will say there
were a couple of good throws before me.

I got the dice and after about 15 or so rolls i looked over to the end of the table and there
was an old gentleman, maybe 75-80. He looked at me and just gave me a nod. Like saying your
doing good. I think the roll was a 32-34. It was a good roll.

I then stepped back from the table to take a drink of soda and the old gentleman walked over
and kinda wispered to me…." some people think practice does not help…. you and I both know better"
When he got the dice he was on the very end. He had a different throw. He held the dice high, always
the same and he had good rotation, picked a spot and tossed. he also had a good roll.

I dont know his story, but he cared enough about the game to do it the best he could, and he appreciated
that i did also. Which is a compliment to GTC.

It was a nice experience.

gman I like what you had to say.
GTC ARE A GREAT BUNCH OF GREAT PEOPLE.
I too had an experience that I would like to share.
This happened before I know about GTC.
I was at a table in a casino in Laughlin and was at SL 4 when a bunch of guys bought in.I cant for the like of remember what they bought in for . But no matter.
They took over the end of the table across from me plus two came to my end.You could tell that they were all together. They were talking about how they had some real good rolls in Vegas and thought they would try Laughlin.
The dice was heading my way but I did get a chance to talk to the guy that came next to me. He said that they all play together most of the time and that the guy on the other end of the table was their best roller. That I should bet on him even tho he had one arm.He was friendly and easy to talk with.He also did not bet vary much.
Well the dice got to me and I started rolling. At that time in my life I did not know about setting the dice or did realize it any way.I just liked to pick a spot on the table to throw at and try to hit it.I learned after my throw was over that this guy had a way of betting to keep track of points made.He would add one dollar to his pass line bet every point that he won.
After my roll he told me that it was a great roll but I should have bet more.He was nice about it and said it with a smile.I then said I wonder how many rolls it was and he said that he does not count rolls but told me of his point thing. He said that he got to 13.00 starting at 5.00 .So I had made 7 points and he was up to 75.00 on at least one number and 35.00 on others.I was still at the 5.00 or 6.00 bets never pressing them.
Well he did not roll or the next two guys who were part of group.
The dice changed direction to the other side were the rest of the group were.
The first guy passed the dice and then the next guy threw. The guy next to me said just wait and bet just the 6 and 8. I said thank you I will.Well this guy made one point and the 6 and 8 twice along with a few other numbers then 7nd out.
Now the guy with one arm gets the dice and the guy next to me says watch him roll. Well I made the same mistake as I did on my roll.DID NOT BET ENOUGH.
But I did win a lot at least I thought that I did.The roll seemed to go on for a long time we were all having fun and I don’t remember any heat at all.As if I know what heat was at that time.
All the guys cashed in and left .The guy next to me cashed in for over 1000.00 and the rest did too. The guy next to me offered to have me tag along since they were going next door and hit them.I thanked him but did not go.
The guy with the one arm did the best he could do which was a lot better then I could do.I just wished that I would of at least pressed a number or two.
That was one of my biggest wins .
I think they all bought in for 100.00
They all seemed to be a great bunch of guys that loved the game. When I look back they seemed to all press and make few bets to keep the game rolling. No crazy bets .The dealers paid off fast and the game went on.
Before I know it they were gone . Not knowing one of their names but enjoying the game with them.
Next time I get to roll with a one arm guy I may just press my bets for luck. 😀 😀
Good Rolling. 😀

Gman, you are right on. GTC is nothing but an absolutely great bunch of people–men and women. We have developed some super relationships over the years.

We always appreciate compliments from other GTC members. The interms, assistant instructors and instructors always work as hard as we can to make the students better advantage players.

Hope to meet you in person someday.

I was playing in Vegas last weekend and after I played for about 3 hours I decided to cash out. I was ahead. When I was in line at the cashier one of the players at the table came over handed me a black chip and said that he enjoyed watching me roll and he made a lot of money. I really like being associated with GTC and have paid for my course already.

Thanks Dom and Frank hope to see you again soon

These are all great stories and just reminds me of the Captain who with observation at the tables, saw that people that took care with the dice had extended rolls.

Thanks everyone!
