Colorado, where I live, just passed four new anti-gun laws and I have no intention of submitting to them. Should I decide that my supply of 30 round mag for my AR’s or AK is insufficient or that I need additional boxes for my M1-A, I will travel to Wyoming or Nebraska and purchase them. Should I need to go on to one of our State Universities for transcripts or other biz I will carry my weapon as in the past. Should I decide to sell one of my collection to a neighbor I will not go thru the state for permission.
The Dumbocrats in this state have turned law abiding citizens that have done no wrong into criminals for no reason other than feeling good that they did something. See you all in jail.
All the measures passed on a straight party line votes with no Conservatives crossing over, 3 reasonable Dems also objecting but we need 5 to kill the measures.

The big problem was getting some one to part with theirs when I left country. No back round check but did need one to leave country.
Just think that we are talking about weapons that are made to KILL people not animals . You have to do more to get a drivers permit to drive some thing that was made not for killing people but some do I know .
I LOL when I think back when I took a friend to go hunting on my Uncle farm . He brought a 22 semi – auto rife. The whole family had a good laugh at how many rounds he used. They all at that time had single shot shot guns. They were interested in my brothers pump shot gun but did say it should only take one shot.
So you can see there is TWO sides to ever thing.
I would not like it if you missed pulling one of those 30 rounds out of the deer that you bagged and I broke one of my teeth eating it .I was a kid back then and remember that I was the one that carried the kill which was almost what I weighed at the time threw 2 -3 feet of snow . I stopped counting after they gave me 15 rabbits to carry had to worry about getting my feet high up to step in the snow .
At dinner I remember my head getting heavy and the next thing was waking up in the BIG feather bed the next morning .
Times have changed but I still don’t need a m-16 .
It was fun shooting all the things that I have . Even the flame thrower was nice but would not want one laying around the house .
Served USMC 1/1 IN 69 AND 70 .
Proud to be an American ….Always will be .
Good Rolling . 😀 😀 😀

And like you I too served this country. Your credentials aren’t any more impressive than mine.

I don’t see the NRA SAYING HOW THEY WOULD DO IT.
I think that it is costly to go out and shoot 3 or 4 30 round clips too.
I remember when I was a teen a fried of my was on his way over to my house to show me his new rifle that he bought. He ended up being stopped by the police ( CHICAGO ) for carrying a weapon . It was an old civil war musket that took black powder and a ball which he did not have . He did not get arrested but they told him to bag it or box it next time .
So I know about gun enthusiasts from way back even have a friend that is legally blind that has a permit to carry. He went threw or the paper work and the range test . Now that is what I call an enthusiast .
Just my .01 worth still would like to see a little more control on were these things go.First thing I would like to see is enforce the laws already on the books and no new one till those are enforced.
Said to much already .

I have my military M-21 at home, how it stayed with me is another story. It would be banned along with its Civilian clone the Springfield M-1a which can be and is used in Big game hunting. Several companies make Sporting rifles based on the Stoner model in Calibers that can be used for big game. Stoner if you don’t know is the creator of the M-16 you trashed and the AR’s are cloned from.
I believe they were made for killing people and in the wrong hands that can happen
Every gun is made to do damage to the intended target. Show me one gun your emotional statement doesn’t apply to. Recently, again, here in Colorado the Director of Corrections was killed by a released Felon with a gun. Even after our Dumbocrats passed strict gun laws. What happened, I thought they were going to stop the madness.
According to the most recent Stats released by the FBI ,2009, less that 2% of all gun related deaths were with "Long Guns", that’s Shotguns, Bolt actions, lever actions, Semi- autos and yes some Full-autos (although there were none with the last class). Most were handguns. there were less that 12,000 firearm related deaths in this country in 2010 according the the CDC. So for argument sake lets say they are lying Sons of Bitches there at the CDC and it’s actually 10 times greater that would be 120,000. That is 40 deaths per 100k citizens. But they aren’t it equates to 4 deaths per 100k.
Here’s another fact for you, the average number of people killed in a "Mass shooting" where the police stopped it is 12. Where an armed citizen stopped it the average is 2.
I think that it is costly to go out and shoot 3 or 4 30 round clips too.
What business is it of yours if I chose to go to the range and fire off a hundred dollars of lead. Your right it is getting costly, so what.

Chicago Americas murder Capitol and home to the most restrictive gun laws in the country. Whats your point with this statement, how is that germane to the discussion.
So I know about gun enthusiasts from way back even have a friend that is legally blind that has a permit to carry. He went threw or the paper work and the range test . Now that is what I call an enthusiast .
Your suggesting that this friend of your is not a responsible person, because he’s blind he isn’t to be afforded the same right as you. While I agree, it was bad judgment on your friends part to obtain a permit, if the law was written in such a way that allowed it … again how does this apply to me. I have friends that are Blind and deaf who ski and Scuba Dive. Either can be hazardous to their health and those around them. Should we limit their rights because of their disabilities.
Again if you think this friend of your is an "Enthusiast" simply because he obtained a permit, you have no concept of what one is. I see a person wanting to exercise his Constitutional rights.
And, absolutely, there are over 2000 laws already on the books pertaining to firearms. Enforce those rather than adding another that is unenforceable.
Here’s a link if your interested pertaining to the facts about gun Violence in the US that has been steadily decreasing even though we have the highest number of gun owners in the Western world. Believe it if you choose. http://factcheck.org/2012/12/gun-rhetoric-vs-gun-facts/
There is no way to Stop violence perpetrated by people intent on doing harm. Nothing short of total confiscation, and that is only a concept that is complete and utter folly. There is no way to get them all, the criminals generally don’t comply with laws, the Australians are finding that out now.

I think that we all should be able to own guns if we want to. I also think that it is OK to disagree and and agree too. But it is not OK to assume what I am thinking about a friend when I did not say that .
I do not think bad about you JUST because you want to have your rights like me .
Just answer the question and that will be that . I guess my little story had no meaning and you read what you wanted and filed in the lines in between. ( so to speak.)
Sounds like were you live you need lots of guns since there is so many different types of varmints . 😀 😀
Good Shooting.

Stephen I understand that your rights are being slowly taken and to me it seems it’s being done all over the country. But I also know that in certain places (most of them southern or Northwest) there are those that enforce the law that say they’ll take a blind eye to these new laws which doesn’t help us in the future. If it wasn’t for me being in the Navy and moving from state to state I’d be a gun owner just because in my mind (not to say that I’m right or wrong) your un-American unless you exercise all your rights. I understand that the 2nd Amendment was made to keep the government in check by the people but this battle has been going on before I was in High School. Since there will always be bad people doing bad things. And when that happens there’s always going to be mothers or fathers asking why wasn’t something done to prevent this. What America needs is a big wakeup call and once again become the land of the free and opportunity, not the land of poor me why isn’t anyone giving me stuff. We need to take responsibility for the crap that happens in our life and stop waiting for the government to do something. If we wait on these guys before we know it the land we stand on will be taken, and if you don’t believe me a friend of mine is fighting to keep there farm because the city has decided that they made a mistake some 15 years ago when they released it to be sold.
But further more as a uniform member I find it quite rude the way that you dismissed Finisher’s military experience. He wasn’t trying to say he was better than you or he knows more because he served. He was just using his experience to tell a story.

Now my son who lives with me has no idea that I have been talking about this on this site .
So we are sitting down getting ready to watch TV and he says Dad did you hear that here in az. they can not afford to buy the ammo for the new police cadets .So we are going to have police out there that cant even shoot a rifle. The price has gone up 5 times and it is not in the budget but they some one a raise .
So now even IF I don’t want to crank off 30 or 40 rounds it costs me in taxes . Just because of some knee jerk reaction . Then later when the price gets back to were it should be the new budgets will not go back to were they were .I see how it works you have to spend all your budget or you have to cut it, but if you spend it you can keep it or increase it.
A few years ago my neighbor asked me if I had stocked up on ammo.I told him that I don’t own a gun any more and he told me that I should be getting for the rebellion . I just wonder if he still has all that ammo and what it is worth now that it costs 5 times more like my son said or is he just mis informed like the rest of US.
O if you ever come to AZ. you can bring your guns they like them here and I have a craps table you can shoot on but please not AT Thanks for liking a story or two.
Good Rolling.

But as far as your neighbor I’m not sure if I’d trust his ammo, as it ages you tend to get more miss fires.
Hopefully this summer I’ll be able to take leave for my cousin’s wedding in Vages, maybe we’ll be able to work some thing out. If I know I’m going I’ll put it on the blogs.
