Can anyone tell me if you are allowed to set the dice in the Caribbean. I am planning a trip soon. Thank you all for your wonderful posts

I have had no problem on Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.

Most cruise lines use dealers with minimal experience. If they were good dealers they would probably be working at a high end casino.
They barely know the payouts and rules. So they usually don’t bother you about setting the dice. Be sure you know your payouts and make sure you get the correct amount. If the table is crowded be sure your bets are put in the right place on the layout. Pay attention to your bets and payouts.
Most cruise ships have low limit games with double odds. The largest chips may be black or only green.
You can bring your own dice to practice. They usually don’t mind if you practice on the tables when the casino is closed. Of course you should not have them with you when the casino is open.

On the island of St. Maarten at the main casino they will not let you set the dice.

Are you asking re (1) Cruise or (2) Islands?
I just returned for a cruise and have never have a problem setting the dice on a cruise.
On the first night the stick said to me " Oh I think I have seen you on another ship" I have never seen him before in my life, it must have been another GTCer. I had great time, increased my RSPG (Note your 401G) and made friends with the dealers.

Most cruise line dealers are kind of lax when it comes to the craps table that I have experienced. The tend to let us push the envelope, the only real bad part is that the rules and limits are on the small side. I have never seen more than double odds and this limits how much we can win.

Sorry to be so late responding, but have been on a couple of cruises lately. Most Cruise Ships as Skinny noted have 2 times odds, so it makes it a challenge to make money on the odds, but the First Lady and I had a couple of good rolls back to back and did well using the Big Skinny method of betting. Celebrity has 3-4-5 odds, also, on a 3-5 day cruise you get to know the dealers well, the First Lady is good at getting a good rapport with the dealers, also, on a cruise, very few players tip like GTC’rs, so they appreciate that. No problem setting the dice and by the end of the cruise they will be asking you how you learned to throw like that (remember they are also probably gamblers), after some persistence we just say we read the book. We even get some young kids wanting to know what cruise we are going on next, as they made some money on our rolls. We just tell them to "follow us on Twitter"! Usually do not play much on the Islands, as in Nassau the tables are longer (check Randman’s report), and Freeport hasn’t recovered much from prior hurricanes, the casino has limited times (usually weekends) when the tables are open.

I have heard that Aruba casinos do not allow setting the dice. The same for the Bahamas. Perhaps others have had more recent experience.

On Carnival cruises all of the Carnival ships lets a shooter set the dice "If they dont take too long". In Freeport Bahamas and Atlantis Nassau I have no problem or grief from the staff if I set the dice.

I play on Paradise Island in the Bahama’s and I have never had any problem with setting or throwing the dice. In fact, if I am tipping properly, most stickmen/women will even take a step back for me. This is the largest casino in the Caribbean.
