Dice Revolutions

How do you reduce the dice revs with our throw? I use the three finger front grip. Any suggestions will be practiced to the hilt! Thanks, Set44 😀

from the way I understand, if the tips are high on the dice and the thumb is low, more revs will occur

so a person should raise the thumb up to a point near the middle of the dice and less revs should occur

The first thing to remember is that the more contact area you have on the dice, the more release drag you will have.

Beginners should start with their fingers high up on the front of the dice, and your thumb in the middle of the back. By having your thumb lower than your fingers, you are creating a moment around the die’s center of gravity to give you rotation. Your thumb naturally comes off first and the energy that you impart on the dice from your forward swing lets the dice roll off your fingers giving you rotation.

The adjustment with the thumb should always be slight till you find the right amount of rotation for your toss.

So move your thumb down and you will get more rotation, (backspin) and move your thumb up to get less backspin.

Set 44, look at your grip as a lever. When the thumb is lower and the fingers higher you are essentially increasing the size of the lever and conversely when they are closer together the lever is smaller. The other thing that you want to do is to be aware of how much your fingers are touching the edges of the dice. If you are touching the edges of the dice then you are increasing the rotation.
I hope that this helps.
