Craps

Class Question and Home Techniques

Spread the love

I see that golden touch is having a class in AC in march. I would love to go to the class. But
unfortunately I own a business and work 6 days a week. and not able to make the class. Is there any tips
or any home practice techniques i can use to better my practices? i practice the grip everyday while im at work.
I always have a set of dice with me. I practice my throws and record 100 throws and then get an average on how
many 7’s i throw. but thats about all i do. I was thinking of making a bar to throw the dice over to get a consistent
arc. Im trying to work on that right now.

Alot of us on understand where your at because we also own or owned our
business. There is not enough time for everything, that is for sure.

Buut speaking just for me, it takes a lot less of your time to do it right the first time. If
you practice and practice on your own, sooner or later you will "make" time to
take a class, except then you will have to make up for all the bad habits we get into
prior to actually taking a class.

Repetitions add to muscle memory whether they are good…. or bad.

your absolutely right gman. I would love to do it right the first time. i bought franks book. I am currently readying that. I like that it came with a dvd. I was watching that over and over again. I wish they had private lessons. Or wish they had some type of class in AC on a Monday.

Hi!

A wise man once said to me that if you can’t hit the same spot over and over with the dice then you won’t consistently repeat numbers.

Throwing dice into a bowl isn’t the sexiest practice routine and sometimes it is downright boring but in my humble opinion I think it is one of the premier techniques to advance dice influencing. If you can hit the receptacle with your dice every time then you are probably using the same arm movement and same backswing every time and this probably means that your dice arc is very similar each time. Repetition breeds consistency in that respect.

Good luck with your practice and your journey! πŸ™‚

You should call Dom and inquire about private lessons if that’s what your looking for. (1866 set dice)

There is a comericial out it shows a kid throwing the baseball so terrible that it is funny then it shows his dad throw the ball the same and explains how the boy learned to do it wrong.

You must get a starting point from some one with the basic otherwise what are you really practicing.

Have you order there vidie that shows them all throwing the dice so you can at least see what it looks like?

That would give you sojme kind of starting point.

BMan is right about the two disk video we have. It has 40 minutes of slow motion shots and it was filmed by the same crew that filmed the history channel show on me, so it is very high quality. And if you purchase the DVD and you then decide to take a class we will take half the cost of the DVD off the cost of the class, so you can’t lose!

AGame suggestion about the bowl is perfect as well because you do need to hit the same spot all the time and the bowl will help

BMan, I love the analogy of that car commercial with the father teaching his son how to throw a ball. It cracks me up, but you are right and Gman is right, take the time off to come to a class if you want to learn to do this the right way .

In one of my dice control books that i purchased. They have one practice technique that i was playing around with last night.
Its called Stars & Stripes. You get a piece of paper or aluminum foil. you place it on your bed sheets. Then you throw a dozen or so throws
into the landing zone you created with the paper or foil. If you throw your dice and it makes stripes on the paper. Then your Dice land correctly. if you punch holes threw the paper or foil then you know your dice dont hit flat. Then they have this thing called the Bed Toss Test. where you throw your dice on the bed with backspin. You can tell quickly if you keep your dice on Axis if you dont get 1’s or 6’s to come up.
Just thought i share some things i have learned.

Joeseph,

We can give you all types of suggestions here and there are many different books about dice control on the market but one important factor is you will need to have a private lesson or you must take a class.

Most who try to self teach dice control will fail. You are playing a game with a negative expectation and if it is not done properly you have to loose. I guess you are self employed and I am sure you work very hard for you money, please pursue your interest in dice control the correct way, invest money and do it the correct way.

Brothelman’s analogy with the auto add is right on the money, if you are practicing the incorrect way it will only stay that way.

One needs to have the proper equipment to learn dice control along with the correct instruction. The video’s Dom mentioned are excellent and will help, these along with a throwing and recieving station or a regulation craps table will make your journey succesful.

I hope I get the opportunity to meet you one day and hopefully it will be at a GTC class.

I agree with most of this advise. But I look at it like golf or any other sport. There are lots of players that play and never go to a class . Yes I agree that if you want to be in the 10% then you need coaching .But I think with reading books and the dvd will help along with all the advise from this site to let you do better then nothing. I am a low roller and have been rolling since the 70s so have lots of BAD habits. But I still enjoy throwing the bones.
Before I know about GTC and dice control I would roll trying to hit the same spot but did not set the dice. Had some good rolls back then but never presses any bets .

Like I cant remember ever having a bet over 6.00 on the table even if it was a roll in the 30 or 40 range. Now after reading books and taking class that will not happen. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

So I think it all depends on if you want to get better. Unless you have a gift for this you need lots of practice and good coaching period.
Good Rolling. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Yes there are lots of folks who play sports without any coaching. The difference is if you play another sport poorly or barely adequately you will not lose your shirt doing it. If you are not able to develop a reasonable amount of skill at controlling the dice you will not be able to play with a positive advantage. Without an advantage it is highly probable you will lose money over the life of your gaming career.

Skinny You do the math how many golfers make money playing that take lessons with no coaching ? I bet more then crap players. I know more golf players that don’t make money then crap players how about you ?
I was surprised when I took to guys from work to golf for a retirement gift. With my 20% discount it still was over 150.00 .They left the tip and bought the beer.
I think it is cheaper to play craps at Wynn then it is to golf there just a thought.
Good Rolling. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Coaching is very important, the instructors will ask each other to look at there toss when they have a little glitch. We know something simple is off and we can not see ourself throw the dice, that is why it is so important to go to a class or a tuneup.
