Roll Recorder Questions

Spread the love

I am at the point that I have passed the Pro Tests referenced in the Roll Recorder statistics using the hardway set.

The 2V set has been suggested for me to use. Would it be useful for me to use the Roll Recorder to get any 2V information? This is what I had in mind.

I was thinking I could list myself as a different shooter to keep my hardway and 2V information separate. I am thinking that the only Pro test that would be valid for 2V would be the SRR. I think the outcome summary would be valid for the percentage that I threw each number with my 2V set.

Do you think this would be valid information or am I missing something here? Is there anything else I could use to gain more useful information about my 2V tosses?

Thanks! 🙂

Getagrip,

Smart Craps ONLY functions with the hardway set. Any other set will not give valid results for any of the pro tests.
If you do want to practice with the 2V set – go ahead. Just don’t bother entering the results into Smart Craps. If you really want to keep track of your SRR, it is probably easier to do it by just writing down your results on pieces of paper.
Once you switch to a Smart Craps recommended set, you should do casino simulation sessions – buy in, make bets, collect, press, etc. and record your monetary results. This is because once you pass the Pro Tests, you are ready to use the recommended set in the casinos.

Congratulations on passing the pro tests – now go get’em!

Thanks guys for your comments on the use of Smart Craps! They were much appreciated.

I am still putting my hardway throws into Smart Craps but I am now keeping hand stats for my 2V set. I have already come across some interesting info on my tosses that I didn’t see when I was letting Smart Craps do all of the work—probably the info was in Smart Craps but I didn’t know how to access it or use it. Anyway,I have found that 7 out of 10 times my left die is the one that is off axis. If I can figure out my left die problem and even fix half of these off axis then my throw will improve dramatically. Another challenge on my dice journey! 🙂

Check your front fingers and thumb. Make sure that you don’t have more skin on the left die with your thumb, and make sure your fingers are straight and you are not hanging a finger over the edge. It could be the index finger or the ring finger … I am not sure because what you may think is the left die, could be the right die for me 😀

What is the PRO TESTS?

Thanks Dom,

Since I toss left handed the finger on my left die is the index so that is the one I will look at closely. Great tips on what to look for and I will especially look at your suggestion about my index finger hanging over the edge of the die as I had not thought about that before. 😎

Funny as when this happens and the left die is off axis it usually comes off the wall pretty straight but then as it almost dies it flops one face outward. It isn’t really a roll out as much as a flop over to the left exactly at the end of the throw. I guess it is just enough up on an edge to get that extra movement at the end.

Arvinn,

The short answer to your question about the Smart Craps pro tests are that it measures

(1) If both die are on axis
(2) Prmary Face Hits
(3) dice Double Pitches
(4) Seven to Roll Ratio (SRR)

Maybe Stickman or one of the instructors can give you more info. I think if I am remembering correctly there may be somewhere that you can look at Smart Craps or use free for a short time to see the functionality. Can’t swear to that though but someone else will chime in with more info.

From the description of Smart Craps:

Pro Test© dice control metric: Learn about our new Pro Test© dice control test, the most accurate and powerful statistical test for dice control in the game of craps. Instead of needing many thousands of rolls for statistical certainty with tests like the SRR, Pro Test© can tell you in a few hundred rolls whether you are in fact influencing the dice.

Where can I learn more about Pro Test©?

A complete discussion of Pro Test© is included in the documentation, with the software. You’ll learn how it work, why it works, and even see the mathematical proof, if you’re so inclined!

Here is the link on the GTC public page that discusses Smart Craps.

From a post by Stickman:

Pro Test 1 measures your on-axis proficiency.
Pro Test 2 measures your primary hit (hardway) proficiency.
Pro Test 3 measures your proficiency in avoiding double pitches.

Everyone must remember most of our problems begin with the GRIP and the majority of the players never practice their grip. Make sure your grip is correct and you will be more succesful in practice and the casino.
