Craps

A Fun Trip

Spread the love

We met up with Brothelman, Goldfinger & JW4141 in Vegas!

We don’t always count every roll so we hope that the above folks will chime in to fill in for anything that we missed. They are great folks to roll with and will have some good comments.

Alligator Rose and I arrived late in the afternoon on Tuesday staying at a place we had not stayed before. Both of us were tired, the tables were full, we couldn’t find a place to play blackjack or craps. Ole’ Doc decided he would go to bed. We don’t play much if any the day of arrival since the traveling is such a tiring ordeal.
The beautiful AR decided she would play a few hands of one of those carnival poker games at very low stakes. She wound up getting a full house and colored up with a nice profit and walked in to our room as I was getting out of the shower showing me all this money she had won.
A great way to start the trip with a nice win locked up.

Got up early Wednesday morning to hit the tables. Rose got the dice first and had a 22. The dice came to me and I had one of the best point seven outs I ever had. The dice came around again and I had a point seven out again. To say I was in the toilet would be an understatement. We colored up and went to find a better spot.

We continued to play off and on for the rest of the day. A few paydays, but mostly we were down for the day at craps. JW4141 and Goldfinger joined us for some of the day as well. JW4141 left the following morning.

On Thursday, we joined up with Goldfinger and did a lot of Casino hopping with mixed results playing craps and blackjack. We were slowly starting to gain some back from our craps losses. Then about mid-afternoon we hit a totally new casino to us. AR got the dice first and had a high teen. Then Doc had a 3 or 4 roll – Rose usually bets $5 on the fire bet when I roll and I sevened-out fairly quickly. The next time it came around to me she did not bet the fire bet because she decided she didn’t like the bounce. However, I proceeded to hit 5 numbers to the fire bet with nobody betting it!!! Doc never bets it because he thinks the vig’s too high – Skinny would have been proud that I didn’t bet it. Out the window went $1250 however.

Later in the afternoon Brothelman texted to say he was on his way – how were we doing? We relayed that the dice were looking better and to come on. After we caught up with him, all of us went back to the same Casino where Doc had rolled the 5 to the fire earlier. No big fire bets were made but Doc rolled a 39 and then a back to back 33 and Brothelman had a good roll in the 30’s as well. Goldfinger had a couple of short rolls with several pay days. During the 39 roll Goldfinger was whispering don’t change anything, keep doing the same thing. Old Doc did and it paid off. Rose was the blocker. Did my roll look good, you bet. Did I have some luck? You better believe it. Funny thing a couple of times the dice landed on their corner and headed to the curve over by the dealer and I could hear Brothelman say “Oh s**t. Luckily it was not a seven and one time the point. Go figure. We colored up and all were on the positive side dollar wise! Great fun!

We always like to think about what we did wrong and what we did right. On the right side we only played when we were rested, used the five count, made only those bets with a low vig such as pass line, come line, place the 6 & 8, bought the 4 and 10 for $25 since the vig is paid only on wins, and canceled our last night at the casino and headed home with a nice 4 figure addition to our 401g. On the wrong side we are still working on that.

It simply doesn’ get any better. We hope to see everyone in the casino soon. AC is only 2 months away.
Great friends, outstanding conversation, excellent food, free rooms with some free meals, and a pocketfull of $$$.

A small addition to our recent report. On the morning after our arrival when craps was not going so good and old Doc had lost several pictures of Franklin, he went to play a little BJ using speed count. In about 12 minutes the deck got positive and he won back the lost Franklins and was up a few dollars. Yes it does pay to have a second game.

Doc,

Great post. The only addition I can make is to remind you of the chicken feeder who had a 30 plus roll in between your 39 and 33. Although we didn’t make as much on him, he cashed in 26 benjamins.
My two rolls in the middle of all this were point-out and a 4 hand. I really enjoyed the afternoon tour of the non-strip casino’s looking for new places to play.
