Great Roll At The Right Time

Spread the love

Hi everyone, it’s been a long time since I’ve wrote as I have been playing more poker lately.
Just wanted to share a fun story:

I got knocked out of a big poker tournament. I only brought enough cash to play the tournament and left my credit cards at home.
I was getting ready to exit the casino and start heading home. I had about $60 left in my pocket I decided to put it on the crap table.

I was a little upset about my tournament exit as I flopped a straight and lost the hand for all my chips. So I put the last of my money on a random roller $30 6 and 8.

The guy hit my numbers 4 times then I took it down. He shortly sevened out right after that.
The the dice came to me I had a very nice roll and quickly got up to $400.

The poker tournament was a rebuy and I decided if I could raise the $560 I would buy back into the tournament as I would basically be free rolling. I went up and down between $200 and $500. Just couldn’t seem to get to the $560 I needed.

Then I was down to $200 and time was running out to rebuy the tournament. I decided when the dice came around again I would just go for it and put all the money out there.

Well I did and I was on a fantastic roll when this high roller came up next to me and started betting with all pumpkins. I kept my normal routine set the dice and threw them softly touching the back wall with a little back spin.

The point was 6 the high roller came out with 3k a number and 1k on all the hardways.
I came right out with a hard 8 then another he was pressing every hit. Then I hit the hard 6 for the point.
At this point I am almost where I need to be to rebuy my tournament.

Come out roll a five. I roll a bunch of 4s and 10s hard and soft then another hard 6.
I stop to count my money and realize I am up to $700 at this point. I say to the dealers take all my bets down.

I then say sorry gentlemen I am leaving. The high roller says your not going anywhere. You just keep shooting I’ll sort you out when it’s finished.

I say ok I go to shoot about another 14 throws with about 4 more hardways before I seven out.

I’m not sure how much the high roller made but I’m guessing in the six figures as he was allowed to bet above the table max.

Needless to say he took very good care of me. I was able to leave and rebuy my poker tournament. And have about three times the money I came to Atlantic city with.

I call that a great roll at the most opportune time. And all that from only $60 left in my pocket.

Great post and it was really capped out if you won the tournament on your rebuy.

Hey Noah I wish I could have finished the story with a tournament win, that really would have been a great story, but it wasn’t meant to be.
Still a great trip none the less!
Thanks for reading my story and I welcome any comments or other stories.
See ya at the craps table

At least he did take care of you. You are a trusting person and good roller too.
I think I would be mad loosing with a straight too.
Good Rolling. 😀 😀
