In Nevada, You gotta hit that back wall!

Spread the love

Nevada Regulator: a valid roll requires the dice to:

a. to be thrown in the air (not slid)
b. to hit the table surface at least once
c. to hit the back wall at least once*

A regulation (craps) game consists of only valid rolls. The Nevada Gaming Commission will close the game if it does not. The house (casino) is required to see to it that all rolls are valid.

Translated, you miss the back wall, your throw is "Technically" invalid.

By the way, even if a player uses a "legal throw" any casino can elect NOT to let the player … but casinos can bar these players and the NGC says it is okay for the casinos to bar these players.

Translated, just like BJ card counters, you can still be 86’d.

(From a thread I found of someone talking to a Nevada Gaming Agent)
* Not hitting the backwall isn’t considered cheating. Like dice sliding.

So true.

We actually interviewed the Head of the Nevada Gaming Commission about this very thing for a show we did for A&E a few years back. There is one more thing, you can not bring the dice as you pick them up above the rail.

Like you said, it is there game, and they can take the dice away from you anytime they wish for any reason or no reason at all

The casino is in control of all games. This is why it is good to be numble when playing the games they are in control off. Arrogance will get you no place, say thank you and smile it will get you more than being a wise guy.

And just because they can say so about hitting the back wall, last week a gentleman was continually missing the back wall and nothing was said.
The shooter’s comment about the game was he now was old enough (80’s) that he did not drink or smoke and now he had too much money left for his time left!

Please adopt me!

He kept on shooting (he kind of set them) but just threw them.

This was at a table that had SL1 open the first night I was there! Tempting!
