So I am thinking of getting a full craps table. I have a room about 15’5" x 10′ (give or take) that it will go in. I think a 12 foot table may be too tight for the room. My question… Will a 10 foot table give me enough room to simulate sr1 and sr2 from a 12′ table, and potentially sr1 from 14′ table. I am assuming I would stand sr3 or 4 but was looking for some professional advice. Do you think a 12′ table will be too tight? Thanks for the help.

A 10 foot table will work just fine for all the positions you mentioned. You are correct in stating you will stand at SR3 or SR4. As long as you are the same distance from the back wall as you would be at a 12 or 14 foot table, the 10 foot table will work just fine. You are better off getting a 10 foot table and having enough room than getting a 12 foot table with no space in your "craps room."
Keep us updated on your progress.

PaulC1 Are you going to build one or just bye one. If you build one you could make just one end of it complete and have the end that you throw from be under the end that is complete till you are ready to throw then just pull it out to practice .
That is just a thought .I built my own but put it on my patio to play on it does take up most of my patio. I have just enough room for a black jack table .
If you do build one it would be interesting to see pics .

Hi PaulC1, I made my own table and have roughly the same dimensions as you. I think a 12ft table will work as long as you have enough space to get around the table comfortably. This way you will be standing at the same spot, same distance to the back wall as you would playing in a casino. Double check your size measurements.

I had a craps table made and it is 11 feet long–inside dimensions. I have marked a spot on the table for 90 inches and 102 inches. Here is my reasoning: a 12 foot table has 144 inches, 1/2 of that is 72 inches and I add 18 inches for the stickman (I assume he imay be fat) for a total of 90 inches. That gives we the distance for stick left (right) 1 for a 12 foot table.
I add 1/2 the additional 2 feet (12 inches) for the 14 foot table positions. The 12 inches added to the 90 inches gets me the 102 inches for stick left (right) 1 at a 14 footer. You will still have plenty of room for a short back swing.
It works for our 11 foot table and should work as well for a 10 footer.
Hope that helps you some.

Thanks everyone. That is great information, and exactly what I was looking for. I am likely not going to build this on my own, and will probably purchase it and go with the 10 footer.

I have a 12 foot in a room 17 feet wide. It’s pretty snug on one end.
Gets kind of cozy on game nights.

PaulC1 I would put a chair at were your table will sit . That will give you a great idea as to getting a 10 or 12 ft. table do you want to be able to walk around it or just put one end to wall ?
Take Pics if you can. Would love to see it . You will have lots of options on lay out I think. I never did any thing like this before but it was fun.
You can check my Pics out under Table Pics if you have not do already. Just remember that it is home made. Done right were you see it. 😀 😀
