I’m interested to hear the forums opinion on this strange outing.
The Casino is jammed with 3 tables open, 2-$15 & 1-$25, obviously the 2-$15 are three deep and it’s impossible to get a spot anywhere let alone one of my choice so I decide to linger around the $25 which only had one player at Horn left very angry guy playing the Don’t like he hated the game and the world.
All of a sudden a real tall guy walks up to the opposite end pulls out a wad of cash and colors $3,000.00, he was a cool guy since I was the only other person near him he asked how the table was, I replied I had no idea yet. So the angry guy finishes giving the dice a beating and they pass the dice to the tall guy, maybe he’s a member if he reads this he will know its him.
He bets $100 whirl with his pass line bet, he rolls Aces! He gets paid nice I’m not too impressed as I have done that not with $100 but I’ve hit aces with quarters On the come out. So I’m thinking he’s not a chicken feeder since he set the dice and had a distinctive delivery. So I figure ill bet with him, his next roll he throws another black down and yells press the whirl also throws another black on Box Cars Straight up?
I throw a quarter on the whirl bet, this guy sets the dice and throws a pair of 6s as if he knew he would? I yelled "way to go man, nice shot" he just looked at me and smiled. After we both get paid, I’m being couscous he throws down another black and yells out Horn high Aces? I just press the whirl to $50… I’m sure you can guess what happens next! This guy sets and throws Aces! Amazing, now I’m impressed… All of a sudden he asked for his money to come down, he throws a black at the dealers and he looks at me and my rack and he says "let’s go" I was a bit hesitant but decide he was right, my measly 4 quarters had multiplied in three rolls why stay and give it back? As we walked over to the window the conversation was short and sweet. He said that’s how we do it, hit big hittem fast and get out. He says if you do that you will be fine, have a good night. I said thank you and we went our separate ways. I went home, I don’t know what he did but I do know he walked away with at least 9 Gs…
So I ask you, was that skill? Or is this guy the luckiest man on the planet that night? I think he spent allot of time practicing to throw Aces & 12s, just by the way he set the dice and delivered them. The thing is he stood way at the far end of the table? From what I read you have less control from farther away?

Even with our skill, luck does have some effect on our results. From time to time one (or both) dice will get away from us and it will come up with a non seven number. It happens to the best. We just take enough care with our throw that these things happen only occasionally. If you take care with the dice, practice regularly, and have a soft throw you will eliminate most if not all randomness (is there such a word) from the dice, as the dice will not bounce around near as much. A soft toss is is essenial to the GTC throw.
Just a few thoughts.

Doc no he wasn’t tossing them softly as we are taught he was tossing them high steeper than 45*, however he was dleiberate if you know what i mean it appeared as if he was on a mission. It is very possible he just got lucky hit a nice score very quickly and said " I’m done" ? Not sure, all I know is I didn’t even throw the dice that day cause I made money as well and these days I need the money so I took it and ran. Although I’m improving with each time I go, I still haven’t been able to keep a good roll going long enough to be in the black yet.
It may be in my head but everytime I’m starting to do well, like I make a point or two as soon as the thought comes in my head, "wow I haven’t thrown a seven" seems like that’s it, there it is. And I find it hard to not think that…. Figures right just as I finally got comfortable with having all eyes on me and the pressure of possibly losing other people’s money in one throw, I’m finally calm and confident the other night people clapped for me and cheered me on because i got on a good roll I was able to make 4 points and three the Hard Way. I just know I can do much better, it’s just a slow process. I will tell ya what im good at but I know it’s just luck. When someone else’s shooting as Im 5 counting them, I get these feelings like "hop the 9’s" and boom he throws the 9 or what ever number I get the feeling on. Sunday night with one shooter I did it 3 times on three different numbers some guy next to me goes "how the hell are you doing that?" Lol just lucky I guess.. I wish I can guess when those Aces are coming!
How come you guys haven’t written any story’s about your sessions, I would like to read them from some of you veteran players.
Thanks,

As far as intuition, I think it is real to an extent. But it could really be just selective memory. Watch.
"I just thought of John." He didn’t call. I forgot I thought of John.
"I just thought of Jane." She didn’t call. I forgot I thought of Jane.
Do this another 100 or more times. Now…
"I just thought of Thomas." Thomas called! Oh, my God, isn’t that amazing? Thomas called! I’ll never forget that. My intuition was really working!
We have to be careful about putting too much emphasis on things such as intuition when we are gambling. For the thousands of players coming to the caisno with "that feeling" they are going to win, most will not win, and they will (rather soon) forget they ever had "that feeling." But the ones who actually do win will remember "that feeling" and think something grand has happened. Randomness makes us think it isn’t random. Tricky devil!!

I screwed up last night BIG… I’m what I call a real "jerk off" I have no business thinking I can beat the odds and learned a huge lesson. I went to a casino with the specific goal to make money last night and refused to accept that it wasn’t happening and I kept on donating 100 after 100 like a real moron. Especially at a time when I really couldn’t afford it, I never thought I could be so irresponsible I was clearly out of control, because I could see no one was winning the table was ice cold but I kept trying, like a huge idiot!
The crazy thing is after being so disgusted all day today, I still had the urge to Pracrice. I practiced for about an hour or so a little while ago and go figure I did very well. It sux to be a big loser!

But shouldn’t people come to the casino with "that feeling" or some level of confidence that will allow them to perform their absolute best at the tables? What good does learning dice control, betting strategy etc if you don’t have "that feeling " that today is the day that you "beat the casinos at their own game"?

Yes you should feel that confidence each and every time you set foot in a casino. You must also be able to see it is not working today.
Any number of things keep this from working all the time so when it does not get out early. As for those hunches it is a given they will fail
at the worst time possible. Practice and record the results. If you can’t measure it it is not real. Play the game with the proven skill and smart betting and you won’t need those hunches. Hunches are nothing more than the gambler showing it self. That gambler dies hard in all of us but we are so much better off
after the funeral. Let it die and forget the hunches and feelings they are not real. They only serve the casino’s purpose of taking your money.

Of course, Frank is right -"Randomness makes us think it isn’t random." But boy, it sure did look like he knew what he was doing! Naturally, I had to try the same thing with absolutely zero success (only betting one dollar though!)
